// Will POV //
I feel a poking sensation against my cheek. It's probably Tessa using one of her tricks trying to get my lazy butt out of bed. Then the lump gives me honk.
I almost jump out of my skin. Damn, I forgot about the wretched duck Tessa used to prank me. I'll have to dispose of it. So I yank the drapes back from the window and open them as wide as the windows can go. I take the duck in my hands holding it out at arms length so it's as far away as possible. I toss the duck out the window. It'll be alright, he will fly before he hits the ground......probably.
"You did not just throw a duck out the window," Tessa says rather menacingly while slowly sitting up in bed. "Really Will? You couldn't have dried off before you went to sleep? There's still a damp spot," Tessa says gesturing to the wet spot on the sheets.
I shrug my shoulder as my answer. Tessa rolls her eyes at me. "Whatever just get dressed, we have to leave soon anyways," Tessa says as she goes to pick out her outfit for the day. Our clothes are already packed for the trip, thanks to Tessa.
I throw on my shirt, coat, and pants, while Tessa fusses over her petticoats and whatnot. I dot get how girls can wear so many garments. They look complicated too. Glad I don't have to deal with that. "Come on, Will. We'll be late if we don't leave now. Go fetch Charlie." For once I do as I'm told. I walk down to the stable containing our lone horse. Charlie is sitting on a stool oiling the harness. "Tessa wanted me to inform you that we are ready to set out soon," I tell Charlie as he looks up from his task. "I will be ready in just a moment, sir." I nod and turn on my heels to go back.
// Tessa POV //
I send Will out to fetch Charlie, knowing he will do more good out there then in here with me. I finish up the last of the packing and make up a to-go lunch with Delia's help. I walk around the side of the house to the front where Charlie is waiting.
Suddenly, I feel a pair of arms snake around my waste. Instead of relaxing into them like I probably should've, I guide the arm over my shoulder, lulling the "attacker" into a false sense of security. Then, I yank his arm over my head throwing him onto the ground, knocking the wind out of................. Will.
Probably should have known the intruder was Will. " Oof, what was that for Tess? I was just trying to show my girl some loving," Will says a bit cheekily. I ignore him, admiring my new found shadowhunter moves. " Can you atleast help me up?" Will asks holding out his hand. I sigh and roll my eyes lending him my help. Will smiles an impish little grin and pulls me down with him. I land hard on my elbow and groan.
"Will, we have to go. Charlie is waiting for us and we don't want to be late for our meeting."
"Ok, ok, let's go Tess." Will says getting up and offering me his hand. I take it and heave myself up. Will bends down to snatch the food basket up that he made me drop. I grab Will's hand and drag him towards the carriage, then I practically have to shove him in. Will gives a shout signaling Charlie to start yet again.
