Chapter 17

// Tessa POV//

Will couldn't shut his mouth the whole way to London. It wouldn't have been as bad if he was talking about something useful like books, but no, Will talked about ducks and how they were evil. I just about smacked him to make him shutup, but we pulled up at the institute so I didn't have time to.

Maybe next time.

We get out and I am just about to knock when the door flies open. A flurry of raven hair and and blue fabric comes flying out at us.

" Woah there, Cecily," Will says with a chuckle as she jumps into his arms.

" I missed you so much, Will."

"Me too, CeCe, but we have some bad news we all need to discuss," Will says setting Cecily down and taking my hand as we go inside.

We meet in the dining hall where Charlotte and Henry, Sophie and Gideon, and Gabriel and Cecily are waiting for us. Bridget was standing in the corner listening in too, trying not to be obnoxious about it. We need her, she's a very good fighter. Even compared to a shadowhunter. They all wave and say hi.

" Ok, enough of the chit-chat, now down to business. there is a demon after Tessa," Will explains. the room explodes into chaos people asking questions from every direction.

" When--"

"Where--"

"How--"

" People! One at a time! Please!" Will says almost shouting to be heard above the hubbub.

" My first encounter was when I went to the fabric shop and the blue demon that "cursed" Will, said that he was sent to destroy me. He was sent by a demon that is unable to enter this domain, apparently the demon doesn't think I should exist," I say filling everyone in on the details.

Everyone stares wide-eyed at me. They knew I got injured at the fabric store, but they didn't know the whole story of why and how it happened.

" My next encounter with a demon was when a lesser demon was left dying in our bedroom. It had a message to deliver. It said hand over the girl so we can dispose of her 'properly'," I tell them.

"Properly," Charlotte says with disgust, "what's that supposed to mean?"

"Well that's why we came here. We need your help to get to the bottom of this and hopefully kill some demons while doing that." Will says starting out solemn, but at the end of his little speech he has a giddy light in his eyes.

Will can be so..... Will sometimes.

"Ok, I might have a plan. It's not a good one, but it's a plan," Henry says uncertainly.
