Chapter 12

/ Will POV/

Tessa took the news supposing well. By that I mean she didn't punch me or a wall for being the bearer of bad news. That's a plus.

"So Tessa, Jem told me that you can go back home today. You're just not aloud to over exert yourself and don't eat avocados." I inform Tessa. She brightens up visibly at the thought of returning home.

"That's good........... but why no avocados?" She asks, eager for an answer. I answer, " Oh that? Jem says that specific acids in the flesh of the fruit and the essence of the demon poison has major side effects when combined."

"All right then, no avocados for me then." Tessa say saucily. I smile, glad to see that Tessa is coming back to life.

/ Tessa POV /

Jem walks into the infirmary and informs me that I can leave as soon as The Silent Brothers gives me a final look.

A half hour later, after getting poked, probed, and swallowing mysterious fluids to see how my body reacts to it, I was finally discharged to go home. Will offers his arm to me as we walk out of the institute towards the carriage. Charlie tips his hat in greeting and opens the door for us. Will and I take a seat across from each other. The carriage jolts signaling the start of our voyage back. Will flopped down like he was exhausted and dragged his hand across his forehead as if there was sweat on his brow. "By the Angel, I thought we would never get out of their. Will said exasperatedly. "Oh, don't be melodramatic, I think you'll live William." I say trying to hide a smile but miserably failing.

"Oh you did not just pull the William card," Will said acting offended. "You were asking for it," I say pointedly.

"You're probably not wrong, but I will never admit I'M wrong," Will smugly said. I am going to smack that smirk right off his face. "We'll see about that," I say so quietly that Will almost doesnt hear it.

"What did you say Tessie?" Will inquires.

"Oh nothing you need to worry about WIll," I say slyly,"and don't call me Tessie." I add
