/ Will POV /

I sprint down the street toward the only shop Tessa ever visits, the tailoring shop. I burst in and see a blue thing lung towards someone. The figure turns its head and it's..

"Tessa?" She turns her head, which is a bad idea because it takes her attention away from the demon. Wait, that blue demon looks familiar. Bam! it hits me, that's the demon who caused me to push away everybody that I loved to save them. It was the demon who was trapped in the pyrix box at my home in Wales. The one that killed my sister.

The demon lunges. Tessa reacts in the nick if time and dives behind a shelf that stored a variety of lace. Tessa shrieks in fear and pain. I look and see her left arm is twisted under her at an odd angle. I jerk into action grabbing the sereph blade I always keep hidden under my shirt. I swipe and dodge the demon that has caused me so much pain. The tail of the demon takes me off guard by sweeping against my chest flinging me backwards into a shelf of jars. The jars shattered, I wince as the shards of glass stick into me. Through the haze of pain I watch as the demon rake his claws at Tessa. He hits home and his claws pierce her skin on her abdomen. Blood spurts out and Tessa gasps in pain.
"No!!" I yell unintentionally. Luckily the demons attention snaps back to me and leaves Tessa alone. Using all my pent up anger and energy, I burst into action jabbing and stabbing the demon reducing it into dust. Sending it back to the dimension it came from.

I look over and see a collapsed man about middle age. Must have been the demons host while in this world. I check his pulse in his wrist but there is none. I just close his eyes and lay him out of sight. I rush over to Tessa barely hanging onto consciousness.

"No, no, no, no, Tessa, stay with me. you are not dying on me." I say almost angrily. Checking her busted arm and stomach. Tessa manages to smile weakly blood trickling out of the corner of her mouth. "Leave me Will, leave me and save yourself." She says so quietly then is pulled under to unconsciousness. I have to lean in to hear it the last part. "No, I'm taking you back to the institute to heal you. I am never going to leave you."

I gingerly pick her up and run her to the institute. Bursting into Charlottes study where they had been planning, I pant but manage to gasp out. "Demon.. * pant* attack * pant* Tessa * pant* hurt." Charlotte rushes over seeing the bleeding, unconscious Tessa in my arms. Charlotte orders me to take her to the infirmary and she'll contact the Silent Brothers.

I arrive at the infirmary and lay Tessa on a bed. Blood dotting the crisp, white sheets. Sophie comes in with a pitcher of water and sponge to cleanse her wounds. "Let me do it." I said not wanting to stand by doing nothing and feeling useless. Sophie obliges silently and hands me the cleaning things and leaves. I gently clean Tessa's scrapes, then start on the large gashes on her stomach. I don't realize it but tears are welling up in my eyes. I kept thinking if I had only acted faster, gotten their quicker none of this would've happened.
