// Will POV //

Bang!!

"TESSA!"

I slowly open my eyes and see Cecily running to Tess's side of the bed.

"By the Angel, CeCe. Could you be any louder?" I ask

"Hmmm, let's see," Cecily says opening her mouth to test it.

"Nope. Once is enough," Tessa tells her while I cover CeCe's mouth with my hand.

"So..... why did you interrupt our beauty sleep," I look at the grandfather clock. "At 4:45?"

"BECAUSE," Cecily says dramatically. "Henry finished the Freezer."

"Really? 2 days early?" Tessa says hopefully

"Yes, what do you not get about 'Henry finished the Freezer'?he worked through the night to perfect it and he just finished the last few tests. Which was like summoning a few lesser demons. No big whoop," Cecily says almost too nonchalantly.

"Ok, so which demon are we summoning first?" I ask because their were multiple demons involved with this situation.

"I don't know. I was just told Henry was finished now hurry up. Meet us in his lair, " she says dragging Tessa off the bed by her arm.

I stumble out of bed, rubbing my eyes. Grabbing my trousers and waistcoat, I blindly step into them. Tessa is grabbing her shoes when I open the door.

"After you, m'lady," I say mockingly ushering her out.

"No time for that, Will!," Tessa says hurriedly. "Come on. We're going to be late. Let's go."

With her skirts swishing, Tessa raced down the hallway. After her brief shadowhunter crash courses, she has gotten a lot faster. I have to jog to keep up with her fast walk.

"Tessa, slow down. Nothing's going to happen without us."

"You don't know that. Now seriously, hurry up" Tessa chastises me.

We fly down the stairs, racing each other. Personally, I think I won by a split second, but Tessa says otherwise. We burst through the doors. Tessa's hair coming out of her braid. Making her look cute in a flustered kind of way.

"Thought you'd never get here," Gabriel says rather snidely.

"Hush up, Gabriel. Don't be so rude," Cecily reprimands him.

"I wouldn't be talking, Brother. At least I wasn't late to Sophie's ascending because I forgot my comb," I say scoffing at him.

"We are not brothers," Gabriel says disdainfully.

"Not yet," I wink at my blue eyed sister, "but who would want to be related to a Lightworm?"

Gabriel was about to retaliate, but Charlotte cut him off. "Boys, quit bickering won't you? This is serious. Now hush and listen to Henry." Charlotte's eyes glaze over with love when she said her husband's name. Like a love sick puppy.

"Ok, as I was saying before I was interrupted," Henry looks pointedly at me, "The Freezer is a delicate machine, so use it wisely."

"I think we should contact the demon Marbas first," Sophie says offering her opinion in a soft manner.

We all nod in agreement. Magnus Bane had been summoned for this event. We were in need of a certain incantation to initiate the Freezer. Or so I was told. You never know quite what to expect when Henry tells you something.

"Ok, give me a moment. These pages are old and are nearly falling apart. I must handle this with precision and diligentness," Magnus tells us. Not looking up in the process, still thumbing through the pages.

"Take as much time that is seen reasonable, Mr. Bane," Charlotte assures him.

"Call me, Magnus," he says with an almost bored tone in his voice.

Well, he has been alive for centuries. Going through the same questions and processes of getting to know one. I guess he has a right to be a little bored.

"That I do, Herondale. And in the future, think before you speak. It always has done one good when he does that," Magnus says superiorly. Still not looking up from his book.

Dammit. I think I said that out loud. Judging from Magnus's remark and Tessa trying to stifle a laugh behind her hand. I'm going to go with the safe bet and say I did speak aloud.

Magnus turns a page with a flourish of his hand. "Ah, here we are."

"Did you find it?" I ask him. Longing for him to say yes and for this to be all over.

"No, Boy. I've just been flipping through old, dusty books when I've already found what I needed," Magnus says, turning his eerie, green cat eyes towards me. His tone dripping with sarcasm.

"Ok, everyone stand back towards the edge of the room," he instructs, "I will say the incantation, then whoever wishes to ask the question may step forward and do so. Only when the demon is secured in the pentagram of the Freezer and under my power."

I can't make out the words Magnus mutters. They are barely audible. I can hear murmurs, but not distinguished words.

Magnus's voce rises at the end to the point where I can here him say 'now rise' in French. I don't know why this ancient book was written in French, but if it helps my Tess, then who cares if it's written in the dialect of the Mesopotamians.

Blue smoke starts to appear in the center of the pentagram. It condenses into a solid shape. Limbs, fangs, and eyes materialize. Giving a face to the blue blob. Everything defines itself in the pentagram. I can see every little detail now.

A sound like a screeching cow erupts from the creatures throat. "Who dares to summon the great demon Marbas?"

"That would be me." Magnus says lazily with a raise of his hand to signal it was him.

"We have a couple questions for you," Tessa boldly stands up to the blue bodied demon.

"Ah yesssss," it draws out the 's' as if it was a snake," the demon spawn. Speak. What do you have to say that is worth my time," Marbas sneers at Tessa.

"Who were you sent by who ordered you to cause trouble concerning me?"

"I don't think it isssss in my place to tell you," its gravely voice uttered

My patience is starting to wear thin. Marbas is just dancing lightly around the subject.

"Ok, cut the crap, Marbas. Why were you sent to our dimension?" I demand.

"Demons like yourself don't usually hang around us if they can help it," Gabriel added superiorly.

Marbas cocked his head to the side, like a puppy getting scolded, and gave an unsettling grin.

"You, Nephilim, when will you ever learn. Us, demons, don't give out information freely," the scratchy voice belonging to Marbas said. "We require a price. And a heavy one it is."

"Name your price," Charlotte boldly demanded.

The blue demon put on a show of making up his mind.

"Our master asks for only this," the demon pauses for suspense. "Instead of taking the mutant spawn of a girl. We shall take the Herondale boy." It grins maniacally.

A/N I am so sorry that it took so long to make a chapter and a crappy one :( I'll try to write a new, better one faster
