"Come on, you can make it a bit further!" I motivated her to keep running, to keep pumping her legs. My throat burned and my body was exhausted but I finally had Winter. Almost completely. I'd give her time to end things with Kaiden, but she knew that would expire if she waited too long. She heaved and tried to catch her breath.
"You do this everyday?" She wondered, looking tired and like she might fall over.
"Yes. It's all I could do when you were gone. It helped me breathe." We stood underneath a tree branch. I pulled her off her knees and draped her arms over my shoulders. She was sweaty and I didn't even care. She wore shorts and a spandex tank top. Her breasts were compressed and pushed up and her hips were accentuated. I hugged her torso. "You're the most stunning person I've ever met, Winter Moreau." She gave me a kiss, and I lingered on her lips enjoying kissing her in public without a worry in the world.
"You're perfect," she said to me. "Whenever you're not trying to get me to do cardio." I laughed and pushed her away.
"Let's go."
Last night after we had sex she slept with me. Mara woke before anyone else and got her out of my room in time for Kaiden to wake up. There was no more denying my relationship with Winter.
After we returned to the apartments we kissed goodbye and went our separate ways. I knew Kaiden would be home in less than an hour and I needed to clean the party mess in my apartment and shower anyways. I lounged around eating chips and watching tv before Mara showed up.
"He's just-," she balled her hands up frustratedly. "Ugh!" She pushed passed me and I shut the door.
"Elaborate?" She sat on the couch.
"Bo, he's an asshole. He totally disinvited me to some stupid party." She pouted.
"If it's stupid why do you wanna go?" She rolled her eyes. "Fine, why did he disinvite you?" She shrugged, crossing her arms.
"I don't know, he won't tell me. See? Asshole." She was an over dramatic girl, and I was a bit more reasonable.
"Maybe it ended up being business." I reasoned.
"Or maybe he's with another girl." Trust issues were born and raised with people like us, I'd gotten better with it, learned how to manage it and not let it control me. Mara completely succumbed to her issues and insecurities.
"I've seen him with you, Mara, I'm sure he's got a good reason, you just have to give him the benefit of the doubt." I poured us some left over drinks and we sat and watched trash reality tv. A guilty pleasure of ours.
"So, you screwed the fiancé." She spoke out of nowhere from beside me. My heart sped up.
"Yes," I answered. There was no hiding it, and I'm not an outright liar.
"You love her. A lot actually. I've never seen you like this with anyone." She said, sipping her drink.
"I do." She smiled sweetly, and held my hand.
"Oh boy, you're in for it now." She warned. "Have you talked to Ezra then?" I nodded.
"This morning, he said we could still be friends. He's an awesome guy." She bobbed her head as the women on the television fought.
"And what's she going to do about her wedding?" I shrugged, not wanting to talk about it.
"I'm giving her time." I said simply.
"And if she's just stringing you along?" I sighed, tired of the interrogation.
"I doubt that very much."
