it was about 9 and we were almost done at the first Goodwill. I found a couple of pieces.
Kaz felt pretty cool because he found a twenty-dollar bill in the jeans he wanted.
and paid for his, Skylar, and I's stuff.
once we paid we all got in the car.

after we went to the Thrifting Bins, we shared.
then we went to another Goodwill.
and now, we are at the last destination.
when I started looking in the men's section for sweater vests, Skylar came up to me.
I grabbed the one I wanted and walked to knick-knacks.
"hey" Chase said
"Hey, Chase." I said, a little sad
"what are you looking for?" Chase asked me
"Crystals, Incense, Jewelry, cups I can use to make candles, anything I find interesting really" I answered. "what about you?"
"I'm not sure yet. to be honest, I thought I would hate this, but its actually so much fun" I nodded
"yeah, it is. I mean Kaz and I will make a day out of this. we pull together 50 to 60 bucks, watch a movie, get food, and go Thrifting." Chase smiles "we do this like twice a month. his mom thanks me because she hates spending money on clothes and this is easier for her" Chase laughed
"what about you? why do you Thrift"
"well for a lot of reasons." I said, moving to the area of the cups "it saves money, it's fun, and I don't know, it's kinda freeing in a way" Chase nodded "Oh! a cup for three cents! and it's perfect for a blueberry candle!" Chase laughed
"what?"
"oh, I sell candles and jewelry on Etsy."
"what do you use with the money?" he asked
"I give it to my brothers so we can pay bills" Chase looked at me
"what about your mom?"
"she died seven years ago"
"your dad died too, right?"
"Yeah, about four months ago" we kept moving through isles
"how many siblings do you have?"
"eight brothers" he nodded
"cool"
"I heard you have an older brother. what's he like"
"total doofus" I laughed
"why's that?"
"he thinks just because I'm youngest I don't know better. I'm the smartest man in the world!"
"what else?"
"he's on an island right now, as a teacher for other bionic kids"
"that's cool, I bet you were one too"
"yeah, I was"
Skylar and Kaz came up next to us
"you ready to go?" Skylar asked, looking at my cart, which was FULL of cups
"It was thirty for 10 bucks! you can't stop me." I said laughing
we paid and left.

the whole way home Kaz and I kept exchanging looks.
I just played so many more songs.
until...
well you know what song came on
Me and Bobby Mcgee.
we were at a red light.
The first strings played and I could feel tears coming on.
Kaz and Skylar looked at me.
Kaz took my phone and skipped that song onto another Beatles song.
"Sorry, I'm just not the biggest fan of that song" Kaz said
"I love that song." I said, looking down. Kaz smiled at me
the green light came on.
