Chapter 33

Elizabeth's POV

"Dang Alec you came to give me a whole show" I say as he takes off his shirt revealing his toned chest. He rolls his eyes giving me an 'are you serious' look. I smile sheepishly at him making him shake his head as he took a seat on the bed before him 

"El I just want you to know that if anything-"

I cut him off right there with a finger to his lips making him look down at my finger as I closed my eyes holding back my tears at the possibility of losing Alec. " None of that Alec. I mean it. You're coming back to me whether you like it or not" I said as I clutched his hand and he smiles sadly at me before leaning in to give me a quick kiss

"Okay Magnus I am ready" Alec says and I felt my heart speed up as Magnus explained a few things for him before Alec lets go of my hand and clutches the stone in his hand shutting his eyes

"You think this is going to work?" I ask Izzy who is staring worriedly at her brother. "It has to" Was all she said before taking a seat next to me and laying her head on my shoulder

I couldn't even explain the levels of terrified I was as Alec began twitching and moving around in the bed looking almost in pain.

"Alec that's enough come back. Come back please!" I said as I tried holding his hand as tears began slipping from my eyes.

"Alec. Baby please you're scaring me" I whimpered as I held on to his hand that was beginning to feel almost cold in comparison to my warm ones

"Elizabeth it's okay. He'll come back" Magnus says but his eyes showed that he was unsure of his own words. Izzy was holding back her tears as she placed a hand on her brothers leg.

Suddenly Alec began twitching again and blood had begun dripping out of his nose and that was when Elizabeth could feel herself stop breathing. "Magnus bring him back" I pleaded

Magnus stood there with his mouth open ready to say words but nothing came back. Parabatai bonds were something no one but the angel himself could interfere with. "Magnus please. It's killing him!" Elizabeth sobbed and that was when Alec had stopped moving completely sweat dripping down his head but he still clutched the stone tightly in his hand

"He's still alive sweet pea I just don't know how much longer he can take... or if he'll wake up at this point." Magnus sighs and I choked out a sob as I rushed out the room not being able to take it

Opening Alec's room door I collapsed on his bed clutching his pillow tightly as the pain in my chest increased with each intake of air I took. "Alec please" I whimpered holding the pillow even tighter

"I can't lose you" I whispered into the empty room

"Mom do you think I give a single shit Clary is back!" I yelled and she looked taken back. "Elizabeth that's your sister" She stutters out and I glare at her

"She is strong on her own mom. All you worry about is Clary without thinking that thanks to you my boyfriend is dying and he may never wake up!" I exclaimed glaring at her. "Mom you didn't think about me when you gave him that stone. You never do. My whole life I have been trained to protect Clary and put Clary before anything else. The one time I am happy, the one time that I can say a person makes me not just want to be alive and awesome you take it away from me" I said

Mom doesn't look like she knows what to say and I bit my lip letting out a sarcastic chuckle. "You know I drove everyone just as insane as Clary when we were looking for you. When we tried to find the book to wake you up I almost died! In fact I almost die every other day these past few weeks but you know who has been there for me every single step of the way? Alec! He was next to me, he supported me, he fixed me! He is the reason I want to wake up every morning mom! Yet you jeopardized it all within hours" I said on the verge of tears

She reaches out for me and I step back glaring at her. "I have to go"

"What do you mean he put a hit on Jace? Jace is the only one that can save Alec!" I exclaimed to Izzy who bites her lip looking at her unconscious brother. "I'm going to go find him" I said grabbing my stele and Alec's jacket 

"Elizabeth Aldertree has you and Clary and all of us for that matter on lockdown here. We can't leave the institute" She says and I smirk. "I wish they would try to stop me" I said as I secured my whip and a seraph blade before going to the roof. 

They can't stop me from up here 

Activating my rune I jump already on my way to try and find Jace
