Unexpected Love

Chapter 16

Elizabeth's POV
Alec's lips on mine were rougher than our first kiss yet just as passionate and sweet. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he wraps his arms around my waist

I shuffle backwards as Alec kicks the door close and he sets me on the couch in my room as he moves his hand to my cheek stroking it with his thumb gently

I resulted to running my hands through his already messy hair as he pulls away gasping a bit for air

He doesn't waste time however as he pressed his lips against mine once more. His hands ran up and down my back as I straddled his lap

He groans softly when I tug on his hair a bit and his hands tightened slightly on my sides before he pulled back

I look at him wondering what his next move was. He smiled softly at me and I smiled back as his hand continued to softly stroke my cheek

"You're beautiful" he whispers as he pecks my cheek. "And you mean so much to me El. I hate seeing you hurt" he says rubbing his nose gently on mine

I blushed softly and sighed a bit. "I'm sorry that I over reacted about you worrying about me" I said and he shrugs sending me a half smile

"I don't care about that. I just care that you're okay now" he says grabbing my hand and intertwining mines with his

"Finally!" A voice squeals and I look over to see Izzy peaking inside with a huge grin. I roll my eyes at her behavior as I tell her to come over here

When she does I get up off of Alec and tackle her to the floor. We laughed as we fell down and she glares at me playfully

"Three things! One. How dare you knock me over in heels. Two. You could have ruined my hair! And three. Alec is getting a little jealous since he isn't getting all the attention" she smirks

I grin at Alec as he rolls his eyes playfully. "Oh totally"he says looking at me before his smile falters

"Guys I Uh have to talk to Lydia about something so I'll see you guys tomorrow it's pretty late" he says frowning before lifting me off the floor

He pressed his lips against mine once more ignoring Izzy squeal once more. "What was that for?" I chuckled once he pulled back

He frowns

"I wanted to do that before I have to do what's done. Remember El I really like you" he says and I look at him confused

"I really like you too?" I said back watching as he sadly smiled before walking out as Izzy was up on her feet quickly

"What the hell is he on about?" She asks and I shrug

"I have no idea"

We were discussing the whole Meliorn issue when suddenly a voice was heard

"You must be Jace Wayland" Lydia says as she stands next to Alec. I glared discretely at her at the move before realizing I was being stupid

"Lydia Branwell. You're quite the legend back in Idris" she says introducing herself quickly. Jace smiles as Izzy links our arms

"Don't believe everything you hear" Jace says as he eyes her warily. "Did you tell them?" Lydia asks Alec

My eyes immediately turned to Alec but he avoids my face at every cause. "Tell us what?" I asked as Alec bites his lip

"Lydia and I are engaged" he says as Lydia smiles. "We are getting married" she says with a proud smile

My heart sank to the floor and I felt every emotion of hurt and anger hit me all at once. "You're not serious." I whispered looking down at the floor

"You were supposed to tell them no. It's your life to ruin"Izzy says angrily as she storms off. I could feel Alec's eyes on me

I felt the tears well up in my eyes as I faked a smile at the them. "Congratulations. You both truly deserve each other" I said nodding my head at both of them as I walk down the hallway

I could hear footsteps follow me and I knew exactly who it was. When I felt them turn me around I slapped them hard on the face

"Don't touch me!" I yelled at Alec who looks at me hurt as he holds his cheek. "I hate you" I repeat over and over again as I punch his chest

"All you ever do is hurt me. I'm so tired of being hurt" I said as I break down falling to the floor and placing my knees to my chest

"El.." Alec says but I glare at him. "Don't Alec. Go back to your fiancé" I said and he looks at me before nodding his head and walking away

I hugged my knees as more and more tears fell down my face. It hurt so much.

Why would he kiss me if he was going to marry Lydia?

After a few more minutes passed I heard heels clicking on the floor and Izzy sits down next to me.

"Oh Liz I'm so sorry" she says wrapping an arm around my shoulder. "It hurts Iz" I cry and she frowns.

"I know Liz. It's going to be okay" she comforts me as I lean down on her shoulder and cry for what felt like hours
