Unexpected Love

Chapter 22

Elizabeth's POV
"You guys made out?!" Izzy exclaims as we lay down on her bed. "Yeah but as much as I loved kissing him I stopped him but iz since well you know hes gonna do that but anyways when I tell you Alec is a good ass kisser I mean he is an amaz-" I get cut off with a pillow whacking my head

"Gross that's my brother" she says and I groan holding my head. "Iz careful with the concussion you gave me" I said and she rolls her eyes hitting me again

I gasp faking a hurt expression. "How rude" I said.  She laughs at that which in turn made me laugh too before a knock was heard on the door

"Come in!" Izzy yells as she clutches a pillow and I look at the door expectantly. Alec walks in immediately looking at me and I look down avoiding his eyes

"Um Uh Jace and Clary are asking for El if you Uh don't mind" he stutters blushing as he looks down

Izzy rolls her eyes at us before nodding at me. "See you later boo" she says blowing a kiss and I wink playfully before following Alec down the hall

He suddenly stops and faces my way. I look at him confused before he takes a step forward making me take a step back

This repeats a few times before my back is pressed against the wall and he traps me against it with his arms

"El I just wanted to say I'm sorry for everything" he whispered his eyes flickering across my eyes and my lips

"Alec stop! You cant keep doing this to me! You're so confusing! I know you feel the same way I do yet you're marrying someone who you barely know and don't even like! Yet you continue to want to kiss and worry for me as though you don't keep breaking and breaking my heart over and over again" I said pushing against his chest

"El I do feel the same. If not I feel more! But I have a responsibility to my family to do this. You don't know how much I wish it was you I would see walking down the aisle. To see you in a gorgeous dress that would only make you look more beautiful than you already are. To be able to put that marriage rune on you and for you to do the same. I'd probably do the mundane tradition of giving you a dazzling ring that shines as bright as your smile but I can't El." He says closing his eyes and I look at him

"So I'm not good enough for you. You want me but I'm never going to be enough" i say my voice cracking and his eyes snap open as he quickly shakes his head

"No El that's not what I meant-" he began but I shake my head. "you've said enough Alec" I said escaping his grasp and walking down to Clary's room

She looks at me as Jace sat next to her and I see jaces eyes flash with realization. "Alec" he mumbles as I run up to Clary hugging her tightly

"I'm sorry we left you behind. I'm sorry for everything." Clary cries as she hugs me almost as tight as I'm holding her

"It's okay you did the right thing it's fine" I whispered. "El I don't know what he did but I can feel he's breaking too" Jace says as Clary pulls back

"I'm already broken Jace"
