Chapter 11

Elizabeth's POV
I walked ahead of Izzy and Alec as I tried my best to avoid talking. I could feel his stare burning into my back but I ignored it as I saw the police station come into view

I also saw Clary with her bright hair walking out with a shocked looking Jace

"Someone call for backup?" Izzy asks as we make it in front of them. Clary sends me a smile hugging me tightly

"I'm glad you're completely healed now" she said and I sighed. "Healed just to realize physical pain is ten times better than emotional pain" I said sarcastically

From the corner of my eye I saw Alec tense up but I just rolled my eyes turning to Jace

"Your sister slapped me" he said and I chuckled softly. "Good." I snorted as he laughs

"Anyways why do you need us?" I ask and Clary sighs about to answer when her phone starts ringing

I looked around making sure I didn't see anything suspicious. "I'll be right back" I said as I took my seraph blade out.

Turning a corner I saw a circle member who quickly took his own blade out

"Valentine wants you. I want to please him" the guy says coming closer. I smirked.

"As if you can get me" I said and before he can do anything an arrow shoots across burying itself in his chest

I turned around seeing Alec lower his bow. I glared at him as he went to retrieve his arrow

"I had it" I grit out and he shrugs coming closer to me. "You should've told me you saw a circle member" he said and I push his chest making him back up

"Don't you dare start to act as if you cared Alec" I said feeling anger build inside me.

"El I do ca-" he begins but I raise my hand. "Just stop Alec. You've done enough to make your feelings about me clear" I said as I turned around walking back to the others bumping his shoulder roughly

He caught my hand tugging me back before pulling me flush against him. I tried to calm my heart as he looked down at me

"El please.... I don't want what happened to affect what we had... Our friendship" he said, but he said the last part as if it pained him to do so

"That's the problem Alec. I thought we could have more" I said in a low voice barely above a whisper

"Let's go" I mumbled as I walked back to the others. Izzy fills me on the details before shooting me a sad glance

"I'm guessing things aren't going well for you and my brother?" She asks and I sigh

"I guess not." I whispered as the three of us walked in with the plan set. "That's her" Izzy says nodding her head towards a police officer that was looking down at some papers

"Ok I'm guessing your the distraction?" Alec asks looking at Izzy. She shakes her head smirking slightly

"I've decided to grow up remember? No more distracting for me. Besides, I don't think we're her type" Izzy says and Alec sighs

"Oh crap" he mumbles and Izzy chuckles softly. "Don't worry it's good practice" Izzy smirks glancing at me as I tilt my head in confusion.

"Huh?" Alec asks as Izzy begins walking towards him. "You know, for asking out Liz" she smirks as she begins to unbutton his shirt

His eye widen as he tries to push her hands away. "what are you doing?" He asks and she finishes unbuttoning the top of his shirt

"Unbuttoning your shirt. What does it look like I'm doing?" She asks making me chuckle softly
