Tony's Pov:

I stared at the red string...It had been years...years of me trying to ignore it but now that the city was saved...after nearly dying...I wondered if they had even felt that...They say you do...say you feel when your soulmate dies...The string was not as red as it was...it looked worn down like me...I sighed...Best to leave you out of this life.

"Tony...if I may." I looked at Bruce. "Maybe you should find them before making any decisions." He said and I was about to say it was a bad idea. "You won't keep them from danger by keeping them away...you'll only be keeping them away from you." The Beta said.

"Bruce." I said.

"People find other ways Tony...so at least you'd be with them if something did happen...Plus...from what I hear the soul string vanishes on the person who is alive if the other dies." I paled...so they think I'm dead. "Also we should probably get to a hospital...Well you at least...The others are getting looked at by SHIELD." Bruce said.

"Thanks Bruce...are you ok here? Promise you won't leave?" I asked and he laughed.

"I'm not going anywhere." He said and I nodded...I left the lab and ignore my still very destroyed tower...I was going to go to a hospital...I swear...alright...I wasn't but I at least thought about it. My string had other plans as I looked at the hospital...Shit...did they get hurt? I walked in nervously and didn't see as many people as I thought would be in here but people looked at me with wide eyes.

"May I he- Tony Stark?" I gave a nervous look to the Nurse.

"Hi." I said.

"Oh god...You're bleeding." She said and I blinked and remembered the cut on my head...It must be bleeding again.

"I'm alright just um...came to find someone." I said and the blonde froze as I looked down at the red string around my finger. "Your soulmate is here?" She asked and I hummed then she paled. "Dr. Strange." She said.

"What?" I asked.

"He...He had a moment and Christine had to...They were in the break room...upstairs and the door is like right there." She said and I nodded...I walked away and realized she said doctor...My soulmate is a doctor...Well shit. Then when I got to the stairs I realized she had said he had a moment...meaning he had felt when I died...Ah fuck. I went up stairs and saw the string in fact going to that door...They say when you meet your soulmate it's an immediate connection...That you just want to hold them, kiss them, and just pretty much want to get married on the spot and I honestly thought it was all bullshit...I knocked on the door and it opened.

"Sorry...We're busy can y-" The woman paused and stared at me confused for a moment before her eyes widened. "Ironman...died..." She whispered and then she was opening the door to let me in. I walked in and there he was...my string lead to him but as it got closer it faded into nothingness...Shit. "Stephen...Stephen...they're not gone." The woman said trying to comfort and was looking at me as she put her hand on his shoulder...The man didn't answer...I moved and he looked at me...stormy grey eyes looking confused but I felt it...Felt whatever it was settle...I felt like I had known him for years.

"Sorry...Someone had to fly that Nuke in there." I said and he was up...He rushed over and I was being pulled into a hug...I melted into it as everything in me screamed safe...I suddenly felt the exhaustion catching up to me as he held me. I could totally fall asleep right now...I frowned when he pulled away though and hissed slightly when a hand came up to the cut on my head.
