Tony snaps and dies...Stephen is devastated but then Tony comes back...
Stephen's Pov:
It's been months...months without him. I looked down at the ring on my hand...I felt the one hanging around my neck...cold without the hand that wore it. We hadn't even got married...We were engaged but then this all happened and he was gone...I closed my eyes tightly fighting the tears as the image of the light fading from those brown eyes. It was the only way...I would have taken any other option if I could have...I remember pressing a kiss to a slowly cooling cheek...I hope he had at least felt that before he was gone so he knew he wasn't alone.
"Strange." Wong sighed and I looked at him. "Nothing just...try to get some rest." He said and I nodded...I hadn't been sleeping well...I watched Wong head upstairs as I sat there. I looked back down at the ring and startled when there was a knock at the door...I looked at the clock...Who'd be knocking at 1 am...maybe Peter needing help. I got up and the cloak landed on me...I walked over and opened the door ready to ask Peter what was wrong but froze...the words dying on my tongue.
"H-hey Stephy." I stared at Tony...No...No...what sick trick is this? "Can...you let me in?" He asked and those brown eyes were staring at me. I felt frozen and his eyes softened... "I must have been gone a long time, by the way, your acting...Steph, it's me..." He said and I shook my head taking a step back ready to close the door when the cloak suddenly dragged Tony into me. I tensed and I felt my eyes water cause I could smell oil and metal...Tony. I choked and pulled him into a tight hug. He hugged me back...I sobbed into his shoulder as we sank to our knees. "I'm here...It's ok Stephy...I'm here." He said softly as I shook. It was him...It was...I pulled back and caressed his face feeling his skin and how it was still slightly cool.

"Please tell me you're not just going to turn to dust in my arms." I croaked and he chuckled his hand reaching up to mine as he nuzzled into it.
"Nope...I'm back." He said.
"How?" I asked.
"The soul stone," Tony said and I gave him a lost look. "It saw how much we sacrificed and it said it never lets sacrifice go unrewarded." He said and wiped a tear away from my face.
"I love you," I said and those brown eyes warmed.
"I love you too...Um...do you have my ring cause I woke up and it was gone." He said and I smiled pulling the chain from my neck. "Oh, Steph." He said and I looked at him to see his eyes water.
"I...wanted to keep you close," I said and took it off before taking his hand and sliding it on as I had done before.
"You look tired...Let's go lay down." He said and I tensed. "I'm not going anywhere...I'll be right with you, Stephy." He said softly shutting the door and leading me to my room...My mind now wondering if this was a figment of my mind cause it was exhausted...I let him lead me...Even if it is...I want to enjoy it while I have it. He smiled and stripped...I stripped to and we got into the bed we curled up together.
"You're cold," I said.
"Yeah...I think I'm um...still warming up." He said and I pulled him even closer trying to warm his body...I was drifting off and felt a press of lips to my cheek right before I sank down into a deep sleep...When I woke up...Tony was gone...I felt my heart shatter as I cried...He hadn't come back...It was all a sad dream. I got up and got dressed hearing Beyonce playing in the kitchen which made me pause...Wong hadn't played it in a long time...I walked in and froze as Tony leaned against the counter holding his mug...I stared as he looked up smiling at me looking so beautiful. "Morning," Tony said.
"Anthony." I choked and he set the mug down quickly before pulling me into a hug.
"Shit sorry I didn't even think you'd freak without me...I'm here." He said and his skin was warm.
"Yes and he keeps eating the bacon like a carnivores beast," Wong said.
"I'm hungry," Tony said and reached out. Wong smacked his hand with the spatula making Tony jerk his hand back rubbing it. The two glared at each other and...god I had missed this.
"I missed this," I said softly and Wong looked at me...I could tell he agreed because Wong had stopped playing Beyonce because Tony had always started to sing along with it and Wong would join in.
"How long was I gone?" Tony asked.
"3 months," I said.
"Damn...How is everyone?" He asked.
"Missing you," I said.
"Well, we have a surprise for them." Tony chuckled. After breakfast I took Tony to the compound...Bruce dropped his tea staring at Tony. "Brucie Bear." Tony chuckled and Bruce ran over hugging Tony as he tinged green...Bruce cried and my heart melted...The two had been close and Bruce took Tony's death hard.
"Bruce, what's wr-" Thor stopped and stared at Tony.
"Hey, Thunder down Under," Tony said and Thor joined in lifting the two making them laugh.
"How!?" Bruce asked eyes bright again and Thor seemed to be pleased that Bruce was seeming to brighten again.
"Soul stone...I'm a gift," Tony said.
"Well tell the stone I can't thank it enough for this gift." Bruce chuckled and then looked at me. "Stephen...how are you?" He asked.
"Stuck to him like glue," I said.
"Understandable," Bruce said.
"Where is everyone?" Tony asked.
"Um...Friday call the team in here." Bruce said.
"Of course Dr. Banner...Welcome back, boss...I missed you." Friday said and Tony grinned. I hugged Tony close and he nuzzled into the hold when we heard the gasp. I looked at the team...
"Tony?" Clint asked.
"Surprise...wait where's Nat has she not made it back yet?" Tony asked.
"She's coming back?" Bruce asked.
"Yup," Tony said and was being hugged.
"Dude...fuck man I missed you," Clint said and Vision hugged Tony after while the others watched.
"Wait till Peter sees." Bruce chuckled...Once Peter got back from Europe and told me everything that happened.
"Well...now I'm pissed." Peter went silent and turned to look at Tony who grinned.
"Mr. Stark?" He asked.
"Hey, Underoos," Tony said and Peter shot out of his seat hugging the man before letting go quickly.
"Ah...sorry, Mr. Stark, it's just I missed you." Peter said and Tony pulled him back into the hug.
"You're fine Pete." He said and I smiled
"I'm so happy your back does this mean you two are finally getting married!?" Peter asked excitedly.
"Yes...it does," Tony said looking at me...We got married on the weekend. Rhodey walked Tony down the isle and Peter handed us the rings...We promised each other the world...but he didn't need to promise that to me...He already gave me the Universe...and then some. We kissed and my eyes watered...We cut the cake and I shoved it into Tony's face making everyone laugh and he did the same. We laughed and danced. We made love that night and I looked at Tony's peaceful face...I let my hands caress his face before brushing his hair away from his eyes...my heart melting as he mumbled my name. The thing about our vows was...Tony promised me the world and gave me the Universe but...I'd be happy with just him.
