Someone Like You

Jaemin had left his boyfriend and friends to go to History, the one subject he hated more than strawberries. He didn't have any friends in that class and he always sat by himself in the front row because his seatmate was never there. He heard a while ago that his seatmate had changed his classes so he was no longer in the class, leaving Jaemin to sit alone.

He couldn't even fall asleep in class because he sat in the front row so the teacher would notice. He would always pull his hoodie over him and listen to music on his airpods without the teacher knowing. Sadly, he hadn't brought his airpods today so he was forced to pay attention during class.

Halfway through class, he caught wind of a conversation occurring from behind him. Suddenly, he was glad that he forgot his airpods on his boyfriend's bed because this conversation was a very interesting one.

"You should just tell him that you like him already." someone grumbled and Jaemin liked the sound of his voice.

"What? No way. Are you stupid? I can't just go up to him and be like, oh hey jisung, I like you and I know we all have soulmates but fuck it." Another voice whisper shouted and Jaemin wanted to laugh at the sass in the person's tone.

"Why not?" The previous voice spoke and Jaemin's eyes widened when he realized who's name the sassy guy had just said.

'Jisung? Park Jisung? My Jisungie~' He thought to himself.

"Because I am not his soulmate. I can't steal someone else's soulmate." The sassy fellow mumbled sadly.

"How do you know he's not your soulmate? It's not like you've ever talked to him?" The guy with the honey like voice spoke.

"I see your point." The sassy fellow agreed.

"Shhh, you know his friend is right there. He can probably hear both of you." A beautiful and soft voice whispered and Jaemin fought the urge to turn around to look at the owner of the voice.

"No he can't" The honey-like voice spoke.

"Yeah, that guy is always listening to music in this class. Most of the time, I can actually hear his music and I approve of his taste. BTS. Amazing." The sassy fellow approved causing Jaemin to smile.

'So they are talking about my Jisungie. AW, my baby has an admirer, uwu! But no one can have my Jisungie except me. Oh and his soulmate.' Jaemin thought to himself.

'These guys are pretty funny, I like them.' Jaemin smiled and continued to eavesdrop on their conversation.

"Yeah, BTS is great but SEVENTEEN, I stan. He's got great taste." The honey-like voice complimented.

"All true but BLACKPINK." The soft angel-like voice chimed in.

"YES!" The sassy fellow said a little too loud causing heads to turn towards him.

"Yes, tyranny was very present during this time period." The sassy voice directed his answer to the teacher.

"Yes, it was. Good job, Chenle." The teacher congratulated the sassy voice, who's name is Chenle.

"Yeah, I totally meant to do that." He whispered quietly to where only his friends and I could hear. They all burst into quiet fits of laughter and Jaemin was beginning to grow very fond of these strangers.

"Okay but BLACKPINK and TWICE ... queens." Chenle continued.

"Are you forgetting MAMAMOO and RED VELVET." The honey-like voice spat back.

"As well as ITZY and (G)I-DLE" The angelic voice retorted.

"Okay, let's stop. We are going to be here all day just listing a bunch of groups we love." Chenle complained causing the other two to quiet down.

"EXO forever" The honey-like voice whispered.

"TXT forever" The angelic voice whispered. The two were clearly not done.

"Okay, you know what! DREAM forever." Chenle whisper-shouted and the other two were quick to agree.

'What group is that?' Jaemin wondered.

"Wait, what were we talking about originally?" The angelic voice pondered.

"Well, Chenle and I were talking about his huge crush on Jisung and how he should confess. Then you said, shut up the dude in front of you can probably hear you." The honey-like voice mimicked and continued.

"Chenle then said he's always listening to music and we started talking about his music tastes and we ended on how ATEEZ, ASTRO, GOT7, and STRAY KIDS are amazing." The honey-like voice finished.

'That's a lot of groups.' Jaemin smiled to himself and went over all the groups they had mentioned. 15 groups. What else can you expect from a kpop stan :))

"You forgot MONSTA X and ENHYPEN" The angelic voice added.

"Ughh, you know what, just add everyone to the damn list. Everyone is amazing and we stan talent." Chenle groaned in annoyance at the ongoing list.

"Fine, if you don't wanna talk about talent then let's talk about your crush on Park Jisung." the angelic voice demanded and Chenle banging his head on the desk went unnoticed by everyone.

"You forgot TREASURE." Chenle added and the three went back to talking about their favorite groups, favorite songs, favorite members and more. Jaemin just sat in his desk and listened to the three best friends talk about everything and nothing at the same time. He wondered why he had never noticed that he had such fun classmates.

Class was dismissed and Jaemin was going to turn around, follow these classmates and befriend them. His phone buzzed and he looked down at the text message from his boyfriend. He stared at it for a few minutes and didn't notice the three best friends that were walking out of class.

'Eomma Doyoung just found his soulmate! :)'

He was beyond happy that one of his closest friends had just found his soulmate but after replying he realized he had to do something. He had to talk to his classmates and befriend them. After listening to them converse most of the class period, he decided he wanted to be friends but now they were gone. Nowhere in sight.

He had no idea what they looked like so he just had to wait until he came back to History class which would be on Monday.

He looked back down at his phone to see his boyfriend's reply.

'Doyoung hyung doesn't want to go talk to him :('

'What?' Jaemin thought to himself.
