"This right here" I said, both of us floating in water, refusing to let go of each other, using our feet only to keep us afloat "I wish it could stay like this forever"

"This place is pretty magical" he said. The water glistened around us, reflecting the light.

He smiled and looked up at the sun, grabbed my legs, put them around his waist and swam back to the shore.

"I think we should get back now" he said, "If we start walking now we can luckily make it for lunch"

After a two hour very interrupted walk Charlie and I finally got back home. We were trying to sneakily go around the house to go shower and change when my mother watering the plants surprised us.

"What in the hell happened to the two of you?" she cried at the sight of us. Both me and him were covered in dirt from head to toe. The yellow in his overall vanished and I had to put his like wise muddy shirt on as my turtleneck never finished drying off. We were standing there without being able to utter a word when I saw Maeve peeking her head on the window, I opened my eyes wide at her to come save us.

"Mary didn't you hear what your husband did to these two poor kids, let me just help your mess of a daughter out, come one Eri let's go inside" she said, grabbing my hand, leaving Charlie to my mother.

"We can't leave him alone look at him, he looks helpless" I said as we made our way to the guest room, looking down at Charlie who still stood there in front of my mom like a little soldier, waiting for a window of opportunity to leave the conversation.

"That's so funny" she said and giggled without looking down again.

I made my way to the bathroom in her room and started taking my clothes off.

"I just can't keep my hands off him" I told Maeve under my breath, taking the rest of the leaves out of my hair and turning the shower on.

"Oh I get it" she replied, bobbling her head and biting her lip, "I don't know if I'm at the dirty forest sex stage, but to be honest I don't think I'll ever will" she continued, physically cringing as she helped me wash my hair. I fought the urge to splash water on her as losing the head massage I was being given was not worth it.

"I think I love Owen" she said nonchalantly, brushing some oil through my hair. I tried to giver her the same attitude back, but I had the biggest smile on my face.

"Are you going to tell him?" I said, looking straight to the wall to try and not make her nervous.

"Oh god no I don't think he is ready for that" She replied and then took a big breath, "Are you?"

"What?" I asked, feeling my shoulders tense up as I inched away from her.

"Are you going to tell Charlie?"

I got out of the tub and threw on some clothes Maeve got me as I vigorously scrubbed my whole body clean once she finished with my hair.

We went downstairs and to the patio where we found Owen laughing at Charlie who was soaking wet from head to toe.

The first came to us, looking red from laughter. He put his arms around Maeve's waist and gave her a loving kiss on the forehead as he let out some final giggles. I couldn't help but think that the boy looked at least a tiny bit ready as their eyes met.

"What happened?" I said, making my way towards Charlie, keeping my distance from him when he tried to approach me.

"I was trying to present the idea to your mom that the river couldn't clean us up totally even if we tried, because of the walk and everything" he started.
