We arrived to set, and I was more than ready to watch the guys perform again. They gave their all while performing. Charlie came out wearing a black sleeveless t-shirt and black jeans with chains hanging from it, on them was a little blue rabbit foot.
"I thought styling boys was going to be hard but I love this" I heard Maeve say as he came walking behind him and to me "And, yes, you are so very welcome" she continued as she saw me staring at his arms. His hands were firmly grasping the guitar's neck and I just limited myself to hold my breath really hard to try and control my thoughts.
"Shut up" I replied, "But yeah you did well" I continued, playfully punching her in the arm. Lily walked by us, and we stood still. Jer shook his head at us smiling and I nodded to him and told him I understood with my eyes.
"Jer talked to me earlier, and he is right" I said to Maeve, "I don't want to be that girl" I said, directing my look at Lily that was talking to Sav.
"No you don't" Maeve replied, "But it's all good if you don't act on it. No one can blame you for having a fat crush on him. And let's be honest he is just as in lo-"
"Let's leave at that" I said, cutting her off before he said anything that planted ideas in my head, "Time will eventually show us the way, what kind of friends are we if we don't support them, even if we like it or not"
"Ugh I hate how mature and healthy we are" She said, "You are right, we should just I don't know let whatever that is just be. I don't know how that'll work if he just keeps finding any chance to literally sweep you off your feet"
"Do you think I should keep my distance?" I replied, really wanting the answer to be no.
"I guess you are the only one who knows that really"
I knew that if we didn't set boundaries this was a recipe for disaster. Did I really want to start something with someone being the other woman? And did I really want to be the girl that waits around for a guy to break up with her girlfriend? On the other hand, I couldn't just cut him off completely. I didn't want to and it was not necessary.
My thoughts were interrupted by Kenny calling everyone to start. The cameras started rolling and the music played as they did.
Madison was giving her all. That girl was superstar material, we were all hyped up when I saw Owen stop playing and come up to her, grabbing her as she let her weight fall on him. Jer and Charlie stopped playing too but looked confused.
"I can't breathe" I heard Mads mutter as Maeve ran to her.
"Is the dress too tight babe? Come here" She said, grabbing her from Owen's arms and leading her to where the costumes were. I followed them to the back after grabbing two water bottles from the caterer's table.
As Maddie took off her dress I offered her a water bottle, and she took took a little sip smiling at me.
"You didn't have to go THAT hard" I said, "Or maybe it was just my presence that flustered you" I continued, trying to make her laugh. She let out a little giggle but was still out of breath.
Maeve grabbed a strapless bra and put it on her so that the material wouldn't suffocate her that much.
"Oh god Maeve you are a genius" Mads said turning to her
"It's years of being forced into tight uncomfortable dresses" Maeve replied, proudly putting her hands to her waist, "Now let's go outside so you can breathe a little fresh air"
We walked outside and saw Owen and Charlie following us, the two of them holding water bottles.
"I guess we all had the same idea" Owen said when he saw Mads, Maeve and me holding water bottles too. Charlie walked up to Mads and posed flexing his arms
