[Owen's POV]

When I got cast as Alex I was over the moon. Not only the character was beautifully written and was like me in a lot of ways but it also conveyed a huge responsibility I was honored to fulfill. After boot camp and meeting everyone in the cast I was twice as pumped, it was like we were a little family.

But the last thing I thought I'd be doing here in Vancouver was falling in love. But here I was, truly, madly, deeply, with a girl I met just a few weeks ago. The way she carried herself was something else. It's not that I didn't know it was too fast too soon, but fearing the possibility of losing her once she went back home I threw myself completely into it. And she made it easy.

When I saw my best friend heartbroken I realized I never wanted to see miss on something like I had when they could be as happy as me.

But I also knew it was none of my business if they decided to let go off it. Maeve and I were alike in that sense, we knew when to step in and when to just let things take their course.

When we met Lily I knew Maeve and I thought the same thing: "What are they even doing?" She told us the story of how she knew she had to come when she found an old letter Charlie wrote to her when they were 7 years old, but she didn't treat him like he was longing for him all those years they were apart.

The day Eri and Charlie went to the lake we confirmed our suspicions.

I took Maeve out for a drive as looking for different places to look food for was one of our favorite activities. We were at a stoplight when a street that was beautifully decorated with fairy lights caught my eye. I wanted to tell Maeve to walk down that street, but I was cut off by the most bitter interruption.

"Owen, is that?" Maeve said, and tried her hardest to look at the very last table in the dining room of a very large dim lit Italian restaurant.

"I can't really tell" I told her I said parking the car. After that I tried a little harder.

"Yes it is" I said letting out a frustrated sigh "I can't believe this"

"I knew something was going on with her. I almost felt bad for her when she asked me where Charlie was" Maeve said letting her back rest on her seat and letting out a deep sigh while making her hand lightly travel down her face in frustration.

"This doesn't make any sense" I let out after a minute of silence "Why would she do this? It makes no sense. She came all the way here unannounced just to hurt him?" I could feel myself burning up.

We sat in the car the next ten minutes looking at Lily intertwining her legs with some guy that looked around our age as she seductively took a glass of red wine to her mouth. He was trailing her arm with two fingers and staring down at her mouth. The more I watched them the more I felt like I knew the guy too. Every single fiber in my body tensed up.

"Let's just leave, I can't watch this" I said, turning to Maeve.

"Ok, let's cool down. I think interrupting Eri and Charlie right now it's not worth it. She is not worth it. Let him enjoy himself" Maeve replied, "And let's keep enjoying each other. We'll deal with this later"

I silently nodded my head and started the car. Maeve put her hand in the back of my head and brushed her fingers through my hair, I looked at her thinking I was the luckiest guy in the world right now. She just smiled at me like she knew what I was thinking. The both of us could very easily forget about our own selves when it came to our friends problems but luckily we had one another to ground each other.  After everything Eri and Charlie went through, we had a lot of those moments.

We drove around until like 5:15 am when I told Maeve to drop me at my place so I could properly rest. As I made my way to the apartment I could hear people screaming. It got louder the nearer I got to the front door.

"Why are you acting like this? Why would you tell her that? You made me sound like an asshole. I never took anyone but my sister there." I heard Charlie scream at her "She is my friend, you should trust me"

"Do you think I'm stupid? Don't you think I know you like her? You have some nerve just showing up here with her like that" Lily replied. I couldn't help but think that she had a point.

"No I know you do but I chose you Lily, I want you." Charlie said, now under his breath, "I would never cheat on you and you know that. I'm not that guy." Charlie replied, when I heard him say that I clenched my fists. I wanted to go in that room and spit the truths in their faces.

"I'm so sorry I made you feel like this Lily" he continued, and I could feel his voice crack.

"Pathetic" I heard her mutter back, and I could swear she let out a sarcastic giggle.

I silently went into my room and texted Maeve.

"Lily and Charlie are fighting. Loudly." She took over 20 minutes to text back that was weird for her but when I read what she wrote everything made sense.

"When I got back here I found Eri in the street. She is absolutely crushed. Talk to you later"

No disrespect to Oklahoma's cuisine I literally know nothing about it lmao. Also, I'm sorry to any Vancouver people reading this if there are any, I tried my best with the research.

Owen and Maeve are in the most beautiful stage of the honeymoon phase oh to talk about someone like that.

I have a criminal law final next week and I'm pissing my pants wish me luck.

Can you tell I get attached to secondary characters?
