"I could very much get used to this" Charlie mumbled, tightening his arm around my waist, where before it softly rested as he slept, bringing me closer to him

"I could too if it wasn't because of your snoring last night" I said, grabbing his nose "I think you're coming down with something because you just couldn't breathe normally last night"

"Well, I think we know who to blame" he said, and sneezed into his elbow "God, I hate being sick"

"Well I hope it's not too bad because tonight's the dance marathon" I told him as he splashed water in his face, "I need you in your best shape"

"A marathon?" he asked, walking out and leaning against the door's frame, "I thought it was like a line dancing thing or something, you mean this is a competition?"

"Didn't you read the sign?" I asked, shaking my head, his eyes became wide open "What? You are not up for it? Because I can always look for another partner." I replied, raising my eyebrows at him, challenging him with my eyes.

"No! Because now we HAVE to win!" he exclaimed, "Owen will not let me live it down if I lose to him." he continued, throwing himself in bed next to me.

"Then let's get going!" I said, pushing him to the floor "We need to get to town and think of our outfits for tonight."

He stuck his head from the side of the bed and squinted his eyes at me.

"You're so lucky you're cute" he mumbled, climbing into bed again.

After having breakfast with my family again the boys, Maeve and I headed to town after asking mom where she got the dress she was wearing that night. We jumped out of the car and headed to the very small flea market in the town's center to hopefully thrift some vintage looking clothes.

"Do we have to dress up?" Owen said, dragging his words as Maeve dragged him.

"No, but that's half the fun!" Maeve said, already searching through the clothing racks.

I turned to Charlie who was already grabbing silly clothes and throwing them on, making the owner of the rack cackle at his new-found outfit.

"I'm so scared to say anything because there's like a 50% chance you're serious about that outfit" Maeve said, walking up to us, her and Owen's hands filled with clothes and accessories.

"Owen and I are done" she continued, turning around

"Wait, you won't plan our outfits too?" I said, grabbing her by the shoulder and making her turn around to face me.

"Of course not" Owen said, grabbing her waist, making her turn around one last time, "This is a contest, we are not helping you" he finished, talking over his shoulder as they walked away. Charlie and I just stood there with our arms crossed.

"I can't believe it" he said, looking around, "Maybe we can just wear our normal clothes then. I'm better at dancing than Owen anyway"

"I'm not sure that's entirely true" I said, looking around too as his mouth opened wide at my honest but crude offense, "We are doomed, they even have the chemistry"

"Hey, I think that's the one thing we're not lacking" he said, putting his arms around my waist, pulling me in.

I looked up at him biting my lip, leaning in, our faces inching closer.

"There's no time for games" I said, giving him two quit taps on his chest as he threw his head back "I think I have and idea tho, let's go get the car"

"Should we tell them to come?"

I just nodded my head no and got into the car with him, waving at Maeve and Owen who were sitting in the diner. When they realized what we were doing their eyes opened wide looking like four fried eggs. I gave them a princess wave from the window and started the car, immediately turning the stereo on.

"Oh my god Er, what's gotten into you?" Charlie said, buckling his seat belt as I sped up once we got to the dirt road that led home. I just looked at him and wiggled my eyebrows, throwing a pair of sunglasses that my mom left in the car on. He opened his eyes and grabbed onto the handle on the roof of the car and looked to the front, trying to swallow his stress as I drove singing poorly at the top of my lungs. After a couple of minutes he started to let go and joined in to sing our favorite Taylor Swift song.

Can't you see that I'm the one

Who understands you?

Been here all along

So, why can't you see?

You belong with me

"Ah she is so good" I said, turning the car off, causing the music to stop. He just let out a big breath and walked towards my mom that was waving at us from the door.

"Your daughter is not ok" he said, looking serious at her and then sticking his tongue out at me from behind her after seeing the face she made when she finally looked at me.

"You're a little kid" I shouted at him, standing in front of my mom that started scolding me for my not so reckless driving to anyone who was used to driving in an open field.

"Ok if you are done now" I told her, putting my hands on her shoulders, "Charlie and I need yours and dad's outfits from that one dancing marathon, the one in the picture in the living room"

"I guess Charlie is lucky your dad suddenly grew when he was 18. Let's go get them!" she said, with a huge smile on her face. I never saw my mom happier than every time I participated in town things.

We went upstairs to her room and she took out a big box where she had all dad's and hers old clothes. After taking out a few times she pulled out a beautiful flowy dress. It was black with a flowery pattern, with thin straps and a v neckline.

"Mom you must've looked so hot! No doubt you nailed a man like dad" I said, hanging the dress on top of my body, looking in the mirror that was hanging in the back of my parent's door.

"Go try it on" she said, a little teary eyed.

I went out and back in as fast as I could. My mom just looked at me lovingly as I played with the dress's skirt in front of the mirror that was hanging in my parent's bedroom door. I was about to say something when my dad walked in, looked at me and let out a big gasp.

"Ha!" he finally exclaimed, twirling me around "You look beautiful honey" he continued, sitting next to my mom, "But I have to say Mary, you wore it better" As he kissed her cheek both me and my mom couldn't help but tear up again, throwing ourselves on top of him as we did when I was a kid, not so long ago.
