When Eri entered the writers room she was met by surprised faces. - "Don't you have a meeting with Maddie? one of the writers asked.
"Matthew told me I had to come here first" she replied, feeling confused for a split second until it all dawned on her, when she realized Matthew was nowhere to be found "That motherf...." she thought, clenching her fists "Okay, I'll go meet her right now then!" He was not ruining this for her.
She approached Madison who recognized her fairly quickly. Eri thought she had the prettiest eyes.
"Hey! I'm Maddie, you are Eri, right?"
"Yes indeed! Are you ready to show me what you got?"
"I'm always ready boss!"
"Oh no don't tell me they put you on that joke too! I've been trying to ignore it but I can't seem to escape it" she told her, and for a second she found herself smiling, thinking about the culprit of it all "So lets do this! Let's just read your lines together and talk to me about the direction you want to go with Julie and I'll just give you some pointers"
As they were talking he spotted Charlie talking to Owen, in an exaggerated manner. Charlie was always a bit cartoonish in the way he carried himself but this time the energy was different. Eri couldn't hear the conversation but it looked intense.
"Dude, remember when you said I liked Eri and I said I didn't, and that she didn't see me that way anyway, and that working together would fuck everything up" He did not stop bouncing as he was saying every single one of those words.
"You did not say you didn't like her and yes It was literally 5 hours ago, I remember" Owen replied, sarcastically, but with a tint of concern "Are you ok?"
"Yeah I'm fine but" Charlie hesitated a little when she saw her looking at him "She is smart, maybe she can read lips lets turn around"
Eri didn't have a clue of what was going on, and she was too focused on Maddie anyways.
"I was in there with her dude, and I swear we had a moment. You know one of THOSE moments."
Owen raised his eyebrows at him and smirked, nodding his head. Charlie nodded back and smiled communicating the same sentiment.
"And then this guy came in and her whole mood changed. She became really uncomfortable the moment she felt his presence. Not like in a "I'm scared way" more like "You gross me out". Remember I said she told me she didn't write about love? I'm guessing he is the reason"
"Look man if you really do like her just let her be, she will open up to you if she feels like you deserve it. You have to earn her. Don't worry about Matthew. He seems too arrogant for someone like her to like him anyways" - Jeremy chimed in
"WHERE did you come out from?" Charlie said, jumping back when he saw Jeremy standing behind him.
.........................................
Maddie and Eri shared a hug and parted ways. They both looked really excited. Maddie felt like she had found in Eri an older, more experienced sister, and Eri just knew Maddie was a powerhouse. Feeling the adrenaline of the intense moment of pure fire she just lived, Eri walked towards Charlie and the guys.
"Oh my god! She is everything you described and more!" She said to Charlie, lightly placing her hand on his shoulder to quickly take it off, not before sharing a smile that again erased everyone around them "I can't wait to see where she goes."
Owen and Jeremy slowly walked away. The pair then were left in silence for a couple of seconds.
"Yes! She is literally a wrecking ball of talent. I just knew the two off you would hit it off right away" he said, as he tried to ignore the big fat issue they had to address.
