[Eri's POV]
I hung the phone and ran after Emma who was waiting for me with my old dolls in her hands.
"Hey where did you find these?" I asked, smiling down at her.
"Auntie gave them to me" I turned around to my mom and smiled at her "She said they were yours, but can I have them?"
"Of course you can" I said, messing up her hair a little. She then ran to the rest of her cousins to play and I made my way back to the couch.
"You used to be that for us. Our little sweet light." My mom said, hesitantly stroking my hair but then confidently as I made myself comfortable in her shoulders.
"I know mom" I said, and felt my chest getting a little heavier.
"So Matt tells us you have a lot to talk us about"
"I'm really not comfortable with all of this mom."
"He called your dad at least 3 times a week since you two broke up" My mom started and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.
"You are my family, not his. I get that you got attached but this is not cool" I said, pouting a little like a kid.
"Just let your dad enjoy him. He feels like you lost on a great man for all he knows, and it's scared her little girl will not be taken care of once he is gone"
"I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself" I said, and I could feel my mom breathing heavier in her frustration. It's not like she was an old-fashioned woman, she fought for every right and stood her ground, but deep down she still wanted me to get married and have a family "And I met someone" I said, turning to her now smiling brightly. Every time I came back to my mom I felt 15 years old.
"Oh you did?" she said, sounding a lot chipper "Tell me about him"
I took out my phone and the picture Sav posted popped up. I found myself smiling and I knew my eyes were glistening.
"So that's the guy" She said, grabbing my phone from my hands opening her eyes widely at the picture of charlie clumsily falling. She gave me a side eye and clicked on his tag.
"Wow didn't know you knew how to do that"
"I'm old not stupid" She replied, squinting her eyes while she scrolled through his Instagram, "And this guy is into you? He is cute" she said, looking at a picture of him smiling with a pumpkin on his lap.
"I know right" I said, taking the phone from her hands "I honestly can't believe it but don't tell him that when you meet him"
"Are you planning to bring this guy to this little place?"
"Yes. You'll love Charlie mom. He is not a big Hollywood guy, he is the humblest person you'll ever meet. And I really want him to meet dad before you know..." I stuck my tongue out and closed my eyes, tilting my head to the side.
"Erato! That's not funny!" She said, turning red from holding in her laugh.
I took her hand when both our laughs turned into melancholic giggles.
"We're ready to do this mom. We'll all be together."
"I know, I know. I just hate to see the love of my life go" She said, looking down at me and smiled, "So when are you bringing him?"
"I'll go there tomorrow to surprise him and then I'll see what we can do. I don't know how we'll work his work schedule out, but I'm sure we will"
We kept talking about life and work when my dad came into the living room. All my family came around, and we sat around the fireplace telling stories until one by one we got to bed. I was making my way to my room when I was stopped by my mom.
