I decided to ignore his last remark and go with it. It's not that I couldn't deal with him. Matthew was an ass, but he would never force anything on me.

I started packing my bags when Maddie barged into my room.

"What are you doing?" She said, staring down at the mess my room had become.

"I leave tomorrow morning Mads, I don't exactly have time to be organized."

"You leave for 5 days not 5 years"

"That's 4 dinners and 4 lunches with important people if everything goes well"

"Maybe a French vacation lover" Maddie said, waving one of my only nice bras in my face, trying to cheer me up after what I had just saw.

"I'm okay Mads, I'm leaving to France to pursue my life dreams. They can have each other honestly I don't care" I said, as I felt the biggest knot in my throat "He clearly made a decision and it's not me whom he wants"

Maddie stayed silent for a minute and then changed the subject.

"What's going on with Maeve and Owen?" she asked, as I jammed 5 extra dresses into my suit case.

"I don't know. They are acting so weird, but they refuse to tell me. I just hope they are doing okay. I mean she did this whole thing just to reassure him or something."

"Girl did you miss it? There was a whole love declaration out there." Maddie said, laughing.

"Yes I did miss it" I said, and put on a weak smile.

"I'm sorry" she said as she helped me finish my bags.

"Everything just seems to get back to him" I said, letting out a sigh "I just hope it was easier"

Maddie was opening her mouth and I knew she was about t say something snarky

"Don't say anything." I said, putting my hand to her mouth.

"Ok I won't" she said, putting my hand slowly down "Let's go out, people might be wondering why every host is not there. Let me just tell Charlie to leave. There. He is gone" She said, after her phone buzzed.

"Thank you. Let's wait a minute to be sure"

We left the room and Charlie was luckily nowhere to be found. The party still died down because the hosts were still in the room so everyone started slowly leaving.

As the last people left the conversation in the room got a little louder.

"You know what Owen it's okay. I just can't believe you didn't prepare me for it. I could've warned Eri before he showed up with her" Maeve said, and her voice started to change tone "It's okay. We're okay."

I couldn't help but feel guilty about them fighting after hearing my name. I was about to go insert myself in the conversation to see if I could do anything but as I reached for the doorknob the door opened from the other side. I found a disheveled Owen and I couldn't help but let out a cackle.

"I guess it wasn't all fighting" I said, looking up at him.

"No" he simply replied through a laugh. He then made his way to the kitchen and chugged a glass of water "I need to go do something right now before she decides she doesn't love me anymore"

I didn't have any time to reply because he sprinted down the stairs the minute he left the glass of water on the counter.

Maeve then came out of the room and I turned to her.

"I'm guessing he is not another toy, huh?" I said, mocking her.

"No he is not" she said, dreamily "Eri sit down I need to tell you something I should've told you before"
