"Ok calm down, what happened?"
"You know how I act like I don't like Charlie"
"He is the only one that believes that but yes"
"Ok first fuck you, second, well of course I absolutely do, how could I not. But that doesn't mean I'm ready to date or to feel these things. It's not responsible for me to play this game, so I've decided I wasn't going to pursue anything with him, and I figured he didn't like me that much anyway you know?"
"God you guys are so stupid." Owen said, dunking his tea bag in the hot water. "Get to the fucking up"
"Well I may have friend zoned Charlie. Not may have, I definitely did. I told him we would be great friends, EXCELLENT FRIENDS" Owen gulped and Eri started pacing through the apartment.
"And then, just now, told him he made me a better writer and kissed him, on the cheek. I feel like the worst person. He looked disappointed, or like, mad at me. Am I confusing him? Maybe it's just in my head, maybe he didn't think anything of it, right? what do you think?"
"I can tell you I would be confused. I think you should just put all the cards on the table. Tell him what's exactly on your mind and let him deal with it. Honesty IS the best policy."
"Dork" she mumbled, punching him lightly in the arm "You are right. I should. I just don't know how to."
Charlie came out of the room. He said hi to Owen and made his way to the cabinet where they kept the cups.
"Oh I'm sorry I got distracted talking to Owen and forgot about the tea." Charlie just nodded at her and kept preparing his tea.
"Did Madison like how the song turned out?" Eri continued, nervously, trying to get any signs of what he was feeling at the moment.
"Yeah yeah she loved it. She can tell you all about it but I think you guys should get going, me and Mads have to be up by 10 at least." he replied, coldly.
"Oh ok." she replied, making herself little, a feeling she deeply despised. She puffed her chest and walked up to him "Maybe we could talk later?"
"About what?" he said, raising his eyebrows while he sipped his tea
"Us. I need to talk about us. About me mostly" This was the most herself she was around him since the airport. She was not letting the fear of being dismissed dominate her again. She knew better now.
"I don't think there's anything to talk about but alright. I'll catch you when you are free" She looked at him with her head tilted upwards, let out a heavy breath and sucked her teeth. He just took another sip.
Madison came out of the room with the journal, and they headed home.
"Don't you think that was a bit cold man?" Owen asked Charlie when they were out the door.
"I don't know, she just confuses me. I thought she tried to make things clear before and I accepted it. It hurt but I've accepted it. And now she comes here, and we have another one of these moments that she seems to disregard completely. I just don't ever know what her next move is. I'm crazy about her but its just..."
"Confusing, yeah, I get it. At least now you are admitting it"
"What where you two talking about anyway?"
"I'm the bearer of many secrets I can not tell" Owen said, making his way to bed
"Whatever" Charlie replied, going into his.
[Eris POV]
I dropped Mads at home as she decided it would be better to just sleep at home and then I made my way to my apartment. As I parked I got a text from my best friend from NYC, Maeve. She worked as a model in NYC, but she moved to LA around the time I got the call from show, so it was kind of perfect. I missed her badly.
