Chapter Fourteen

***Valerie POV 3rd***
Valerie wore a yellow-orange dress with lace flowers in the top and end of the skirt that was above her knees. She bounced her leg nervously and excitedly as they pulled up to her village she felt she hadn't seen in years. She twisted her engagement ring around her finger as she noticed new houses being constructed and the air was filled with the smell of cedarwood and the sound of hammers and other tools. She unbuckled her seatbelt as her home came into view and she could barely contain her and her wolf's excitement. She opened the door before Asher came to a full stop in upfront of the mansion. She held her bag and run in through the doors.
"I'M HOME!" Valerie shouted with a smile. No response until Jasmine came out from the library.
"VALERIE!" She shouted and Valerie drops her bag quickly runs and jumps into her arms. Jasmine spins her in her arms and pulled her away.
"Wow, you haven't changed. Thank God!"
"Where is everyone?" Valerie asked.
"They are out in the field I think," Jasmine responded to her letting her go and glaring and Asher behind her. Valerie quickly headed for the sliding doors in the living room when she was overwhelmed with her mates' scent and then she picked up someone else scent. Daisy. She runs out and spots her. Valerie quickly shifts tackling her to the ground.
"Valerie! Oh my God! Stop!" Leam shouts at her wolf. She growls as Valerie tries to gain control again.
"She is part of the pack now." That makes Valerie's wolf quickly back off and allows Valerie back in control. She shifts back and looks at Leam. She jumps into his arms laughing and crying as the kids and Lucas came running towards them.
"Mommy!" They shouted as they came hugging her legs. Valerie picks up Lucy and kisses her all over the face and gives Lucas a hug and a quick kiss. Asher stood in the doorway in silence watching Valerie being surrounded by her family. He immediately notices the blonde hair girl with honey eyes. It could have been because of her beauty, the fact Valerie tackled her, or because of the ridiculously fancy dress, she was wearing. She wore a big yellow puffy dress with many ruffles and a pink bow tied around her waist. The top was off the shoulders with ruffles and flowers. She noticed Asher too and waves happily as she runs towards him.
"Alex you are finally back! You look different though. Why are your eyes red?" He scowls at her.
"My name is not Alex. My name is Asher." She leaned towards him with her hands clapsed behind her back.
"Wow, that's uncanny. You look exactly like him though." She blinked her honey-colored eyes at him. He got slightly flustered with how close she was.
"That's because he is my twin brother," Alex says walking out from the woods. Daisy gasps and looks between the two vampires.
"You're his twin!? Wow." Daisy says stunned. "Well nice to meet you, Asher. I'm the daughter of Alpha David of the Moonstone pack." She said giving him a sweet smile.
"So what the hell do you mean Daisy is part of our pack now?" Valerie shrieks at her mates.
"Listen remember when we went to speak with her and she gave us information?" Leam says. Valerie slowly nods as she watched Daisy talking animatedly to Alex and Asher. Valerie sets Lucy down and she goes running up to Daisy after kissing Valerie's stomach while Julian goes and sits next to Khloe and talks to her about something.
"Well, it turns out Raymon is her mate. He forced her to attack you otherwise he would have killed her family. Her father brought proof and she requested to become a part of our pack and protection. We thought about it pretty hard and decided you wouldn't want her to become another victim to him. Even though he is now dead his pack may still come after her." Valerie nods reluctantly.
"Yeah, I suppose it's true. I wouldn't want her to be another victim. That doesn't mean I like her being here."
"That may be a problem. Lucy took quite a liking to her." Leam says and they all look at Daisy and Lucy talking about something with huge smiles on their faces.
"I see," Valerie says stiffly.
"Hey, Valerie. Do you think you can do something?" Lucas asks.
"Um sure. What is it?" She asks tucking some hair behind her ears.
"Can you call Asher over here?" Valerie looked at them with an arched eyebrow. She turns to see as he was reluctantly talking to his brother.
"Asher! Come here!" Valerie calls with a smile. Asher pushes himself off the wall and gives a dismissed wave to his twin brother. He shoves his hands in his pockets as he approached. He stood straight and made direct eye contact with them.
"Thank you," Leam mumbled.
"What?" Asher asked stunned.
"Thank you!" Leam says louder.
"Thanks to you the sired bond was cured. We really appreciate it for you finding the heart to do it." Lucas adds on.
"Tsk. Yeah sure." Asher said looking at Valerie. She avoids eye contact knowing he knew she lied to them about being completely cured.
"Seriously man. Thank you." Lucas holds his hand out to Asher with a slight smile. Asher looks at Lucas in the eyes and firmly shook Lucas's hand. Valerie could see at that very moment that Asher changes for the better. Valerie gives a closed-eye smile as Asher slowly begins to talk a little with her mates. Valerie walks over to Daisy and Lucy. Daisy's smile drops and she tenses.
"Are you going to attack me again? Look I just want to say I'm sor-" Valerie raises her hand up to quiet Daisy.
"It's okay. I understand the whole thing. My mates told me." Daisy nods.
"You know. Asher is kinda cute." Daisy says nibbling her lip.
"If you say so." Valerie laughs.
"Oh come on! You don't think he is cute not even a little?!" Valerie felt like it was the olden days again when they were close and Valerie wasn't being abused severely by Raymon. Lucy dances around the field jumping and spinning in the air.
"I think you should but her in ballet. I think she would really like it." Daisy whispered as Lucy spun around holding her bunny by its arm and spinning around.
"I can't say I disagree. She seems to enjoy dancing." Valerie agrees as she leans back on her elbows and closes her eyes soaking in the sun.
"Well, you have gotten thicker since we were kids." Valerie glares at her.
"Are you saying I'm fat?"
"Oh my goodness no. It suits you. I was just saying you aren't the toothpick you were when we were 9." Daisy says as she sat in a pool of yellow silk.
"Your fashion sense hasn't changed a bit." Valerie retorts with laughter.
"Of course not. I have great taste in fashion."
"I can't deny that."
"Yeah when we were 9 you had a more casual fashion seems that hasn't changed much." Daisy smiles tucking some of her long locks behind her ear.
"Umm yeah. After 14ish I was never wearing clothes... When I do I usually was made to wear Alpha Raymon's." Valerie said with a sad lopsided grin. Daisy grabs Valerie's hands in hers.
"I wish you would have told me," Daisy said tearing up.
"Well, it didn't start till I was around 14. After that, no one saw me." Valerie replied as a tear slipped down Daisy's face. "Otherwise, I would have." Daisy wipes her tears off with a smile.
"Of course. We were best friends after all."
