Chapter Twenty-Seven

***Jasmine POV 1st Person***
Mike's arm was draped over my waist as I continue to toss and turn. I have been having constant nightmares. Sometimes about the baby I'm carrying, sometimes about my family where I had a younger sister that looked a lot like Valerie with her face blurred out. Same with the rest of the family. Valerie and I have so much in common. We have experienced similar things and my brain was confusing it thinking Valerie is my long-lost sister.
I slip out from Mike's arm as he stirred turning the other way. The wooden floor was freezing cold against my feet. I padded over to the door and sleeper out into the hall. I go to the doors and go down the other hall before going into the library. I remember the very day I had developed the love for books. The day I woke from a coma with Mike beside me. He was reading some kind of story to me in a tired voice and a smile on his face. I didn't know who he was despite the fact feeling of that tug of the mate bond I was scared. In fact, it was the bond and his kindness that scared me. After all these years I learned people were only nice for something in return. I turned left after the last row of bookshelves where my laptop sat. I had already searched the books for a Ryan Williams that we had records of but there was none. I opened my laptop and went to a secret data website and hacked into it. I turned on some music before I typed in the name and I found many hits. I remember how Valerie described him. Brown hair, silver eyes, in his 40's maybe. Despite him looking in his 40's we know he is older since he was a vampire. I enter in the breed vampire. There was one hit. He is in his 100's and looked exactly like Valerie described. I quickly open my notebook writing down all the information. All his known addresses, current address, his age, everything. I hear footsteps and turn to see Mike tiredly rub his eyes.
"Hey. You should really be getting some sleep." He said to me. "What are you doing?" He asked as I exited out the tab.
"Well, I think I found our Ryan Williams. Have a look." I handed him my notebook which he sits down and skims over it.
"Looks like his current address is close. About a day's drive away. " Mike comments.
"Yeah."
"Jazzy you're working too hard. You have to rest more now that you're pregnant." I sighed.
'I know but I can't stop my mind from racing. Those nightmares plague me. I can't sleep."
"We should really update to more technology for sure," Mike says rubbing his chin."I have to talk to Leam and Lucas about that. Since we are updating the town." I nod in agreement.
"They want to keep it as their mother and father left it but we do need to modernize everything here so we don't stick out like sore thumbs to others."

"Yeah." Mike says rubbing the back of his neck. I smile at how handsome my husband was and how he was all mine. He noticed me staring and smiled at me sweetly and ran his hands through his hair. My heart fluttered which he never failed to do every day. He had dimples on his cheeks when he smiled. He grabbed my hands pulling me from my chair.

"Dance with me, my love." I laughed rejecting him until he sinned me against him. His hand rested on the middle of my back as he tenderly entwined his fingers in mine and began to sway to the slow music spilling from the speakers of my laptop. We sway to the music he spins me out and I smile as he pulls me back and dips me looking me in the eyes. He held me there and his eyes flicker to my lips and i press them together as I rest my hand on his cheek as he slowly pulls me up to him.  Our lips meet tenderly as I melted into the kiss. His tongue warmth spread on my lips as I met his with mine. He held me close to him as we continued to sway as he express his love to me. I had butterflies in my stomach and it was like our first kiss all over again. When we pulled apart I smiled as he looked me in the eyes with his full of love.

"I love you Jaz."

"I love you too, Mike." We hug as I stood in his arms safe and happy. Our love was our love and ours only. It wasn't full of lust or just want. Our was love is just being together and being able to see each other every day. I began to cry into his shoulder of joy on how our life is. He smiles and holds me tighter.

I get dressed in a sheer black shirt and pull a blue plaid spaghetti strapped dress. I pull on some black converse looking heels on. I throw my hair into a loose french braid ponytail. Mike decides to match me a little and puts on a white shirt and a blue demi coat and black ripped jeans with black high-top converse. We knew as soon as Valerie heard she would want to go immediately.  We walked out of the room and down the hall to find Valerie in one of her mates' shirts drinking blood from a cup. Valerie blushes when she saw them and tugged the shirt down willing it to get longer. Leam and Lucas were sitting on the couch watching something on the Tv when they saw us. They immediately get up and block her in her vulnerable state. Valerie struggles to separate them so she could see us. 

"Good morning Jasmine, Mike. why are you guys up so early?" Valerie asks with a smile trying to cover the fact she was embarrassed.  Mike curtly nods his head towards her in acknowledgment. 

"Well, actually we have something to tell you, Val."  She perked up and I know if she was in wolf form would have her ears straight up and tail wagging a little.

"Really? What is it?" She says clearing her throat trying to sound less anxious and excited.

"I found Ryan Williams. It's a day's travel from here." Valerie shoved her mates apart and looked at me.

"Well, what are we waiting for! Let go right now!" Valerie demanded before her mates quickly grabbed her by her elbows. 

"Valerie you are NOT going in just our shirt. You need to also establish dominance gracefully." Valerie looked at them utterly confused.

"What do you mean!?" Valerie shouted as they dragged her towards the steps still in their nightclothes themselves. 

"Jasmine! What do they mean!?" She cried as I stifle my laughter with my hand.
