Chapter Thirty

***Valerie POV 3rd***

Leam stared at the blonde woman with blue eyes holding the twin babies in her arms. They were wrapped in baby blue blankets one crying and one cooing. Ryan comes and takes the crying one from the woman that was staring at here two oldest sons that she hadn't seen in years. The baby in Ryan's arms stopped crying and began to coo.

"Mom?" Lucas says carefully as if to make sure that this woman was his mother. 

"Lucas?" Ember quickly wraps her available arm around him crying. Lucas hesitates not sure what to do before hugging her and burying his head into the crook of her neck like a child. Everyone was completely stunned except for Ryan who was murmuring to the little bundle in his arms. The baby in Ember's arm made a small sound of protest between Lucas and her. She pulls away laughing a little wiping her tears rocking the baby to soothe him. Leam was fuming as he couldn't help but wonder why she never came to see them all these years. 

"Why are you here!?" Leam demanded. 

"What?" Lucas asked turning to him.

"Leam I-" Ember tried to explain.

"WHY DID YOU NEVER COME BACK OR TRY TO CONTACT US!?" He roared at a deafening volume his eyes brown. 

"Leam calm down. At least let her explain." Valerie said in a strong voice but it withers when he look at her with pain and anger in his now blue eyes again.  

"No, he has every right to be mad at me." His mother sighs tiredly. Suddenly another girl who looked about 13 came down carrying a 3 year old girl.

"Mom, Remi is hangry so I'm just gonna get her a snack." 

"Okay, Aria." The 13-year-old completely ignores the guest in the room as she walks into the kitchen out of view. Leam and Lucas were tense.

"You need to explain everything Ember," Valerie says with the voice of a leader or so she hoped.

"Of course." Ember agreed sitting in the chair next to her husband. Leam, Lucas, and Valerie sat across from them. Valerie rests her hand on her stomach and gripped Leam's hand knowing he needed it now. 

"I suppose I should start off with after I got kidnapped. I was tortured for a year before my savior saved me. He came and bought me to make 'hybrid' children. But he just said that because he knew they would most likely agree if that was the case. He paid for me and I remember he said something to someone behind us. When he brought me here he bathed me, fed me, and gave me new clothes. After that, he told me I was free. I started talking about being able to come back home but then he said something that changed my mind. If I came back not only would I put my life in danger, I would put yours, his, and our packs in danger again. I told him I didn't have anywhere to go and he offered me to stay. And well, clearly we fell in love, got married and had these beautiful children. But I promise I never went a day without thinking about you two. I have told the children about them having powerful older brothers." Ember explained as Ryan go up and placed the now sleeping baby boy into a crib next to his chair. Leam stood up along with Lucas and Valerie. 

Leam goes and swings and Ryan everyone was surprised except for Mike and Lucas. Mike hooks his arms under Leam's arms holding him back as he flailed his arms around. 

"You need to calm down alpha." Leam lets out a sigh and relaxes.

"Okay, okay I'm calm." Mike slowly releases and Leam turns like he is gonna leave before turning back around swinging quickly before Mike yanked him back again.

"Argh! Just let me land one punch!" Leam shouted struggling against Mike while Valerie tried to calm him down by talking to him.

"He manipulated her to make her stay!" Leam said through gritted teeth still trying to get out of Mike's grip even though he knew it was hopeless.

 Lucas smacks him on the backside of his head and everyone gasps. Leam's head shot forward and stayed there while it went completely silent except for the tired cooing from the baby in Ember's arm. Leam slowly lifted his head up and looked at Lucas with flames engulfing his eyes.

"You wanna go outside?" Lucas asks.

"No! I wanna beat your ass-" Leam started to say.

"No, I think you want to go outside. Come on." Lucas grabs Leam's elbow and Mike lets him go as Lucas led him out. "We'll be right back." He says over his shoulder as he closes the door behind them. There was an awkward silence once Valerie's mates were outside.

"May I ask who are you, Dear?"  Ember asked looking at Valerie admirably as Jasmine came and stood beside Valerie despite things now being slightly awkward between them.

"Valerie, Luna of then Moonstone Pack, mate of Leam and Lucas," Valerie says confidently. Ember nods. Valerie couldn't believe the woman from her visions and that wrote in that journal as well as the previous owner of "How To A Good Luna?" was standing right here. Her future mother-in-law and the woman she had been searching for so desperately. Valerie looked down at her almost 5-month stomach. 

"You know I'm sure you don't need it but before I became Luna I read a book called-"

"How To Be A Good Luna?" She looked at Valerie with surprise. "My uh, mates they gave me the book to read. Along with one of your journals." The door closed interrupting the conversation and Leam and Lucas comes back into the house.

"I don't like you," Leam says pointing at Ryan who seems a little upset. "I don't forgive you yet. You have to do a serious make-up and prove that you want to still be part of our lives. Last but not least. We want to stay here and get to know our siblings." Leam concluded.

"Of course."

"I however will go home," Valerie speaks up. "I can't leave the children with Khloe all the time. You guys can stay and get to know your family. I'll take care of everything else so you don't have to worry." Lucas opens his mouth to protest.

"Dear there is no need. You can bring the children here." Ryan offers clearly trying to show he was a nice guy.

"Oh no, I couldn't..." Ember rests her hand on Valerie's arm. 

"Please. I would love to meet my grandchildren." Valerie hesitated before finally agreeing.

"Jasmine please tell the driver to go and get the children and Khloe."
"Wait Khloe?" Ember asks. 

"Yes?" Ember laughs joyously.

"She was my best friend." Valerie smiled nervously. 

"Of course," Jasmine says stepping out of the house to notify the driver.

"I see," Valerie responded. Leam and Lucas were invited to look at photo albums while Valerie sank into the couch exhausted. She found herself nodding off before finally falling asleep.
