Another day has passed, and I'm still here in the hospital— waiting to be discharged. We're just waiting for Madeleine right now since she promised to bring everyone breakfast. But until now, there's no sight of Madeleine everywhere, she didn't even texted any of us. "Saan na ba si Maddie? Nagugutom na talaga ako." rinig kong reklamo ni Sebastian. Narinig ko rin yung mga sikmura ng iba na kanina pa kumukulo, we're all waiting for Maddie to arrive.
It's now 6:56 AM, and the others have their own classes in 8:30 AM so they'll leave soon. Time continues ticking, but Maddie still isn't here. "M-maybe s-she's just l-late." I tried talking and they all looked at me. Kiel immediately ran towards my bed and held my hand. "A-are you okay now? You can talk already." he asked, both confused and concern. I just showed him my smile, and he quickly understood me.
I am just brought here yesterday, but I don't want to stay here any longer. It is because I have many more things that I need to do to solve the strange happenings that is occurring lately, and also to lessen the burden they're having because of me. I must solve this quickly, and I need to be strong and get out of this hospital for me to do that.
"Tawagan niyo nga si Maddie. Baka hindi pa siya nagigising, o baka nauna na siya sa school at pinapaasa lang tayo sa palibreng pang-almusal niya." sambit ni Dom na may halong inis at kaba. Everyone took out their phones and tried to call her. Her phone's ringing but she's not answering. "I've already called her multiple times, no response until now." Isabelle stated which made others, including me, really confused. It's the first time that Maddie acted like this. She will not ignore us since we all are in good terms now.
"D-do you think something happened....... t-to her?" nag-aalinlangang tanong ni Sebastian which made our heads turn into his direction. From that statement, I started to panic. With the thought of that specific demon that nearly killed me, I started to breathe heavily. Kiel turned around into my direction and noticed my unstable breathing, so he immediately held my hand and consoled me.
"Maybe she's just slept late from guarding her house since alam nating matatakutin si Maddie. She probably entertained herself the whole night by watching movies and clips. Stop thinking that she's in danger, I'm sure she's fine." Kiel said in order to reassure everyone that everything's fine. I still find this pretty strange, but I really pray and hope that she's fine.

"Pag di pa tayo pumunta sa school ngayon, malelate tayo. Let's just go and buy breakfast somewhere near." suwestiyon ni Dom which made the others groan. "Umasa pa naman ako kay Maddie. Hays, lagi nalang." malungkot na komento ni Harrison kaya niyakap nalang siya ni Dylan. They finally bid their goodbyes to us and left the room. I said us since Kiel suggested to skip school to guard me. Hindi ako pumayag nung una pero nangpumulit siya. Wala eh, sobrang hina ko pagdating kay Kiel.
"Una na kami. Be safe okay? Don't worry about us, mostly to Maddie. I'll call you two if makasalubong namin siya." paalam samin ni Isabelle bago siya tuluyang lumabas at sumunod sa iba. Now, I'm left here with Kiel all alone. We both stayed quiet, since none of us dared to talk. It is really quiet, but it is now awkward.
"You could've just go with them, ayokong naaabala kita." I stated to break the silence between us. He then looked at me intently, and gently held my hand and caressed it. "I would not leave you, even if you want me too. I am doing this because this is what I want to do, and this is what my heart tells me to do— and that is to never leave your side no matter what happen. Even if the world would break us apart, even if I get sick or hurt, I will be on your side. I can sacrifice everything, even myself, just to make sure that you are fine. So let me just do this, please?" he sincerely said and kissed the back of my hand. I lowered my head to prevent myself from crying in front of him, but I failed. My tears streamed down my cheeks nonstop. I then felt the warmness in my body.
Kiel is hugging me.
"I love you, Alex. The thought of leaving you is too impossible for me." he said as he continues to pat my back, stopping me from crying. I smiled in between my tears. I am happy because of him, and I'm happy that it is him. It's him that is always there with me, in my lowest and greatest downfalls. I am happy that it was him from the start.
His warmness continue to linger me since we are still hugging right now, but we heard Kiel's phone ringing. Tinignan niya kung sino yung tumatawag and he immediately grabbed the phone and answered the call. He made sure to put it on speakerphone for me to also hear it.
"Maddie! Kanina mo pa kami pinag-aalala, alam mo ba yun?! Umasa pa yung iba sayo kasi sinabi mo na dadalhan mo sila ng breakfast pero di ka sumipot, pinaghintay mo pa sila. Nasaan ka ba ha? Kasama mo ba yung tropa?" dire-diretchong sabi at tanong ni Kiel sa kabilang linya pero wala siyang ibang narinig kundi hikbi. Hikbi na sigurado siyang hindi pagmamay-ari ni Maddie.
"K-kiel, t-this is Maddie's m-mom. I'm just gonna ask kung........ k-kasama niyo ba si Maddie ngayon?" the person on the other line, which is Maddie's mom, stated. Me and Kiel looked at each other, both nervous and confused. "U-uhm tita....... the last time that we seen Maddie and the last time that we talked to her was yesterday. She said that she's in your house since kailangan niya yung bantayan. D-did something happened po ba?" nag-aalalang tanong ni Kiel. I'm starting to get nervous, and my hands started to turn cold. We're now listening and anticipating to Mrs. Swift's response,
"S-she...... she's......" her words was interrupted by her own sobs. We hear on the other line that her husband is comforting her. That made us more nervous, mostly me. I'm starting to doubt negatively but I want to shrug it off. "S-She's what, Mrs. Swift?" Kiel asked, both scared and nervous. We wouldn't know what will Maddie's mom will said next.
"S-she's missing, a-and there's blood...... o-on her bedroom."
That's when I completely lost it. My eyes started to water, and my breathing once again became heavier. I remembered what happened to me, and it seems that it also what happened to her. It made me certain about one thing.
