What color dress am I wearing? The hell does he need that information for?

And u want to know this because?

Then we can match ;)

U rlly want them to think we're dating

Don't u?

For the 3rd time

Publicity. For. U.

Aren't u supposed to push me to the

side with NO publicity

So u could have more of it?

Sure, but it's getting kinda boring

This way, they'll have sum else to

talk about

Now what color?

Light blue

Great, thanks

Mhm

I really wonder what he's going to do with this information. Knowing McQueen, he's gonna buy a tie to match my dress or something.

What bothers me is why he would go to the extent to really make it seem like we were dating. The free publicity made sense, so maybe he was getting bored of the spotlight.

Ha. Not possible. This is Lightning McQueen we're talking about.

Unless...

There's no way he actually likes me.

Otherwise, he'd just say it straight. He's not the type of guy that'll keep it a secret. If he liked me all this time, he'd tell me by casually slipping it into the conversation, or he'd even reveal it by telling the press when they were interviewing him.

And even if he told me, I'd obviously reject him. I don't like him like that, and I'm not ready for a relationship. This is one of the most important times in my life, and I can't afford to screw it up just because some romantic feeling get in the way.

I'll date when I'm not fighting to officially kick-start my career.

As I was lost in thought, I heard the doorbell ring, meaning my food was probably here. I grabbed my wallet, opened the door and there was a woman with a cart and a few plates. She handed me my tray, and I paid her for the food, plus a tip. She thanked me and left for the other rooms.

I set my tray down, but all that thinking made me lose my appetite. I ate anyway, knowing that I'll be starving when I wake up if I don't. And I won't be able to eat until the conference either.

The conference wasn't really going to be a conference either. Usually, these things were just parties funded by sponsors and retired racers, and an opportunity for the press to get some dirt and drama. I bet that there'll be a hundred different people coming up to me and McQueen to interview us about this whole 'secret dating' conspiracy thing.

I finish eating and clean the plates. Setting them aside to dry, I think of Chris and the whole cheating fiasco.

Did he really cheat at the qualification races? I didn't hear anything about it, from anyone. So how did he still get in, and is able to compete for the Piston Cup? Did the officials ever find out? I mean if they did, then he would have been disqualified, never being here in the first place.
