"So?"
"So... what?"
Lightning glanced at me after taking a bite out of his nugget. I didn't know what he was talking about, or what he was asking of me.
We had discussed the race and what actions we needed to take - just a few moments ago. We decided it would be best to start practicing as soon as possible, well, once his car was finally repaired. Lightning promised to listen to me no matter what happened; he didn't want to fall into a pit of cacti again.
Now, we were just sitting here, somewhere past 1 PM, eating chicken nuggets in darkness, humidity, and silence.
Well, it wasn't silent anymore.
"I mean... I know I asked if it was okay if I stayed here until my... brother was gone from town, but the state I was in, I didn't really give you the chance to answer properly." He explained genuinely.
"I said yes."
"I know you did bu-"
"I said, yes. If I didn't want you to stay with me I would've kicked you out already." I smiled at him, silently letting Lightning know I was sure of this decision.
He laughed lightly. "I guess you can say you're obsessed with me." He closed his eyes and smiled. I bet you anything he was fantasizing.
I leaned forward. He may not have been able to see me, but I can tell sensed my movement. "I'm sorry, who pinned who against the island just now?"
He opened his eyes slightly and glared at me. "Fuck off," was all he had to say.

Nothing much happened the rest of the day. We hung out until nightfall, sitting in the house, walking around aimlessly, sitting on the couch, walking up and down the stairs, I switched out the bandage for my wound. It was boring, obviously. We couldn't go anywhere until it was around 2:30 AM. That was the time we decided on; the time we would go outside at night for fresh air.
At one point, a little after six, we heard another set of knocks on the door. Turned out it was just Mator with a few things from Lightning's trunk, which he thankfully just left at the front step. We were able to grab the things discreetly.
This plan was getting risky.
Which reminded me.
"Hey Lightning?"
"Yeah?"
We were sitting on the floor, leaning against the coffee table, our legs straightened before us. We were kicking each other as a way to pass time.
"I know we said we would stay here until your brother left...but I kinda thought of another plan in case he stays until Saturday. When I have to leave for the reunion." I mumbled the last part, not wanting to darken the mood.
"Mhmm..." He hummed, realizing I was going to continue.
"I thought of another plan. It's a little riskier, but it might work better than this one. Right now, we don't have a real reason to stay in here, we just... 'disappeared' you know?" I kept going, looking at the TV in front of us. It wasn't turned on.
I felt him nod.
I explained Plan B to him, carefully, making sure all the confusing parts were cleared out. He seemed to understand more and more, and actually liked the idea as I went on.
When I was finished, Lightning only said four words: "You think too much."
I leaned back in shock. "What?"
