I stood next to the door and waited nervously.
I wanted to regret this, but I didn't feel a tinge of guilt.
It was like I wanted this to happen. Like I was waiting for just the right moment; just the right opportunity.
My leg bounced.
Ugh.
Then I remembered Sally.
Double ugh.
I have no doubt Lightning told her he was coming over to take a shower. I mean, I hoped she understood the situation, she couldn't really get mad. I'm not putting my sister down, but she forgot to pay the water bill to her motel. Where else was McQueen supposed to go?
And I don't exactly think it's a good idea to drive all the way to another motel just to take a shower.
Then came a knock on the door.
I breathed in like I always do when I'm nervous and opened it.
Lightning was on the other side, standing with a towel, and clothes folded neatly on his arms. On top lay two bottles; one of body wash and the other of 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner.
"Come in."
He stepped in and we walked upstairs together.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't going even the slightest bit crazy. It was only natural.
I told Lightning everything he needed to know, but it's a bathroom and shower, there wasn't much to explain. I let him know I would be in my room if he needed anything.
I laid back and onto my bed, sliding my hands down my face.
So much for eating yogurt.
My phone was still downstairs, but I didn't feel like getting up. I just wanted to stay here if I'm being honest.
Why? I had no idea.
My room was dim-lit, my lamp on in the corner, giving off soft lighting, the moon shining above, but off to the side, as it wasn't that late yet. It was a comfortable setting.
Damn, Lightning McQueen using my shower? It was like every fangirl's dream come true. Plus Sally. Was it my dream come true though?
Maybe. I'm not that far into the whole crush thing to think about that right now.
But it does make me feel closer to him in a way.
I closed my eyes, resting for just a second. Now that I have a minute to think, I feel tired. My body is starting to sore after all the things that were done today. And considering it's July, I'm strangely cold.
Oh well. I'm always somewhat cold.
A few minutes later, I jump at the sound of someone calling my name.
"Olivia!"
My eyes open and I sit up suddenly.
Lightning stood in front of me in grey sweatpants (which I'll say suit him well), and - stay with me here - no shirt (he put it on the edge of my bed now that I see it).
Yeah, just a towel around his neck while he dried his hair with it.
Oh...my gosh.
He was so damn attractive. Sally was incredibly right.
It's funny how I didn't see it before.
The hair, the height, the body, the personality. So fucking attractive. Even with the room kind of dark.
