I'm pretty sure I sat there for a good five minutes before getting up to get dressed and make breakfast.
Can't make Lightning cook every day now, can I?
Actually, I can. My house, my rules.
I sat on the edge of the bed and stretched my legs, and right as I was going to stand up, I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist and try and pull me back into the bed.
"Nooo. Stay."
I hit the pillow with a groan, knowing that the comfiness of my bed was going to force me to stay in for another half an hour.
Not to mention the boy I hope to have a future with is laying in my bed as well, pulling me in to stay with him.
He snuggled into my chest, his groggy self probably not aware of his actions. I spasmed for a second, getting all flustered about what he was doing.
"Ugh, get up you idiot." I threw my head back and gave myself room to rub my face out of minor frustration. Of course, I wasn't actually frustrated; I was just teasing.
"Nope." He grumbled, snuggling in even more and pulling the covers upon us.
Guess we'll be spending part of the day in bed.
Not like we had plans anyway.
We really only laid there and talked about the tie-breaker race and what we think is going to happen. We made plans to practice and briefly talked about a new design Lightning has thought about for his car. A long while passed, but eventually, though, I was pretty sure Lightning fell asleep.
But he didn't. And of course, I was somewhat thankful for it. Then again I was always th-
"Firefly."
I stopped midthought and peered down at him. Lightning still laid on my chest, but we were buried even more in my sheets, the pillows and covers fluffed up around us.
"What?" I laughed awkwardly at his word. He's so random sometimes.
"That's my nickname for you."
"Firefly?"
"Yup."
"And why's that?"
He sat up, laying on his side and leaning on his elbow next to me.
"Well, your name is 'Embers' so I thought about fire immediately. The 'fly' part comes from the fact you look like an absolute angel." He moved a few hairs from my face. "And they light up in the dark, similar to your personality."
Out of no where I burst out laughing. It was so random and so poetic, not like him at all.
"Oh shut up. I've been thinking about it for the past week." He grumbled, turning away from me and facing the wall, pulling the sheets up and over his head. That just made me laugh harder. Not the nickname part or how long he thought about it (I found that extremely sweet and outright adorable) but that he always acted like a child throwing a tantrum.
I leaned over and placed a gentle hand a the edge of the covers, pulling them down slowly.
Lightning's hair was a mess around his head, and his frown was obviously fake. He was curled up, his knees against his chest, still looking forward.
I laid still for a few moments until I knew Lightning couldn't keep himself still anymore.
"Sorry." He mumbled after turning around and facing me.
He sat up got off the bed stretching. His shirt lifted, revealing his toned abs and some of his V-line.
I couldn't help but stare.
