It was about 1:58 PM when we finished eating, and we only really had an hour to enjoy ourselves before we had to leave for the race. Sally, Lightning, and I decided that we wouldn't go into the water anymore, and we would stay in the sand, talking and playing volleyball; halfway through eating Lightning remembered he had a volleyball in the trunk of his car, so after he was done, he went and got it.

We cleaned up, throwing our trash away in a big, metal garbage can by the boardwalk. Minutes later, we started a few rounds of 1v1 with the volleyball, rotating 'player-against-player' between the three of us. After a bunch of rounds though, and a lot of water, I had to go to the bathroom. I grabbed my sunglasses and left.

It was pretty far, which explains why Sal was gone quite a while earlier, but I got there quicker by jogging most of the way. After being done in the bathroom, which was honestly disgusting because there was urine everywhere and no paper towels, and barely any room, I left to go back to the towels. I decided to walk this time, wanting to enjoy the scenery around me. The sand was incredibly soft but hot at the same time. The water was a beautiful dark blue, crashing into the shore every few seconds, creating pure white, bubbly foam. There were a few shells in the sand, but they were all either super tiny or broken into pieces.

After a few peaceful moments, I heard noises behind me. Turning around, I saw two guys running up to me, appearing at my sides. They both were only about an inch taller than me, but definitely younger. One of the boys had long blonde hair that was dyed black at the tips, bright green swim shorts, and freckles that spread across his whole, pale face. The other boy had super short, brown hair, black and purple striped swim shorts, and a noticeable scar that stretched across the left side of his honey-toned face.

"Hey, hottie. I'm Ryker, that's Emilio, what's up? You wanna come with us to our towel spot?" The black-haired boy, Ryker, said, throwing an arm around my shoulder. He smelled terribly of alcohol. The other boy, Emilio, stayed silent, but I could smell the alcohol from him too. I'd say they were about fifteen, maybe sixteen.

These guys were drunk.

Not saying anything, I slipped out of Ryker's arm and sped up my pace. Not to my surprise, they went after me.

Forget what I said about not wanting 'horny fifteen-year-old boys hitting on me', these guys were just that, and here they were anyway, drunk and all.

These types of situations make me uncomfortable to an unexplainable level.

"Awe, come on. D-Don't be like that! You have a s- splendid body. Come b-back with us." Emilio whined, slurring his words together. He had a thick accent that I recognized as British. This time, he was the one who swung his arm across my shoulder, but it slipped down, his hand now on my hip. I shivered in discomfort and slipped out of the position once again.

"Please leave me alone, I have somewhere to be," I said politely as possible. My words almost came off in a hiss or a warning tone, but I made sure it didn't. I wouldn't want to make the situation worse than it already was.

"Hey! What the hell!?" Emilio yelled, louder than I think he meant to.

Ryker continued, also yelling, "We were giving you a compliment! You should be thankful!" He tried grabbing my upper arm, but I pulled away fast enough that he only grazed me with his fingertips.

I sped up my pace even more now, practically running. I didn't try and focus on whether or not Ryker and Emilio were going after me, full-on running now, back to Sally and Lightning. Because of the soft sand, it did take a while, but I got there safely, which was all that mattered to me now.

I hunched over, resting my palms on my knees and taking shallow breaths. To be honest, I was scared back there. At one point, I thought I wouldn't be able to get away fast enough. People like them are highly unpredictable, and it makes me want to vomit.
