My body woke up but I didn't dare open my eyes because I could tell I was facing a window, where the sun was brightly shining onto my face...

Don't get me wrong, I loved how warm it was, but I didn't feel like making myself temporarily blind first thing in the morning.

I turned myself around, realizing I was in a bed, covered in a giant, fluffy blanket. My head was deep in a cold pillow. This wasn't where I fell asleep yesterday.

Well, technically where I fell asleep today since I passed out around 2 AM.

All the memories from yesterday came crashing down on me; everything that happened during the race, the tie, Chris, almost getting shot, stargazing...

Hold on, how did I get from the glass booth to some random bed?

I don't even know where the hell I am!

...Don't tell me Lightning let me get kidnapped. I doubt he did, but I'm never sure when it comes to him.

I sit up, opening my eyes while still being careful not to let the sunlight hit my face. I notice that I'm in a bed, a large one at that. There's barely anything in the room; one plain wooden nightstand next to the bed, a small desk with a lamp and cushioned chair, and a long closet that stretched into the wall horizontally. The bed covers and pillow were both white, and I could see the bed frame, which was a dark brown. The door was closed, but I could tell it was old. The paint on the walls was also chipped off.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if I was actually kidnapped and dumped here to sleep.

The only thing giving away the fact I was not kidnapped, was the absolute heavenly smell coming from the other side of the door. At that exact moment, my stomach rumbled. I barely ate at the after-party last night.

I step out of the bed. My arm throbbed like crazy from the graze the bullet took against it. It's wrapped tightly with white gauze, which I now saw had some blood seeping through it. I needed to get that fixed up ASAP.

I'm still wearing my white shirt and racing pants, which I'm grateful for. I follow the amazing smell, opening the door and seeing a rather sad excuse for a living room and kitchen. A long, quilt-like couch sat crooked in the middle of the room, with a rather tall lamp next to it. The kitchen was just a large, wooden table, where the delicious smell was coming from. There was a metal sink and faucet attached to the wall in the corner, so that was something.

A plate was full of pancakes, stacked high with a maple syrup-filled dispenser next to it. Another large plate had sizzling bacon, scrambled eggs, and buttered toast. Two empty plates were set up on both sides of the table, including silverware and tea-cups of what seemed like raspberry tea.

I looked around. It didn't seem like anyone was here with me.

"You're awake."

Spoke too soon.

I whirl around to see Lightning stepping out of a bathroom, his hair somewhat wet and messy, and he was somehow in a fresh white T-shirt and some black sweatpants.

I looked at him in sarcastic annoyance, landing my hands above my hips, "You get new clothes but I don't? Such a travesty. After all, I'm the one with blood on me." I motion to my sleeve, along with the side of the shirt, which are both speckled with, now, dried blood.

"Don't get your panties in a twist Embers, I got some spare clothes from my car. I put some in the bathroom for you too, so I suggest you also go take a shower." He winked, motioning towards the room he came out of. I blush at his snarky little comment at the beginning.
