In a matter of a few minutes, Sally and I were getting ready for the reunion.

I actually felt really enthusiastic about the whole thing. Being able to see any changes in our middle school, how the kids I went to school with grew up, and our past teachers too!

Granted, I never really had a big group of friends, but I had close ones nonetheless. I wanted to see them so bad. I've been obsessing over racing for such a long time, I had completely forgotten to socialize.

"What do you think it'll be like," my sister asked while dashing blush across her cheeks. She had the perfect blend of foundation and bronzer on her face and neck, her eyeshadow and lipstick complimenting her outfit nicely.

And here I stood next to her, having an internal struggle whether or not I should completely change the way I looked. Should I put on more foundation or concealer than I was used to, or some blush to redden my cheeks? Maybe some light blue eyeshadow to make my grey eyes pop out more?

I couldn't help but feel pathetic when I didn't know what to do with myself at the moment.

While my sister was utterly oblivious to my small meltdown. Then again, my small meltdown was me screaming in my head while I stared myself down in the mirror. So nothing too obvious that would set her off.

"Pretty fun actually. I can't wait." I laughed, and we were back to silence and the sound of brushes tapping pallets.

My phone suddenly vibrated in the waistband of my pants, and when I pull it out I notice a text from Lightning.

literal headache

Yes. I changed his name again. To hopefully change the way I felt about him.

Didn't work.

Stop panicking so much

U look hot with or without makeup

;)

My face was heating up, and I looked up to the mirror only to lock with his eyes. He stood outside of the door, in the hallway, watching me like the creep he was, laughing to himself as he saw my red face.

I texted back.

Oh how sweet -_-

That still doesn't help me decide

what do to

Go with the dark blue tube of mascara

And the light pink lipgloss in the clear tube

That should satisfy your struggle

Hm...

I put the phone down, and glanced at him again, a skeptical look crossing me. He nodded toward me, and I went with his advice, considering it would take me forever to decide on anything else.

I took the mascara, unscrewing the top and pulling out the wand covered in an ink-black. This one was darker in color and much more voluminous than the two others in my bag, and I was genuinely curious how Lightning decided this one was in fact the best for me.

And holy hell it was.

I rarely wear mascara, but when I do I never look at which one I pick up and put on. Clearly, my luck was bad if I never noticed how well this one looked on me.
