Time skip 2 1/2 months.
Mills made squad. There's a new candidate on truck named Jones. Gabbys back as PIC. I told Antonio about me and Voight and he surprisingly took it well.

I got up and showered and then put on my work clothes. I did my makeup and brushed my hair.then put it up. I went and had breakfast. I grabbed my bag and put my shoes on. I walked out the door just as Antonio came in all sweaty from the gym.

Antonio: love you baby see you later
Kendra: Love you to.

I went to my car and went to work. As I walked up I saw a woman struggling to carry her bag.

Kendra: Let me help you.
?: Thanks. Wait. Your Kendra Parker. The girl on squad. I'm Rebecca Jones.
Kendra: nice to meet you candidate.

We went inside. I followed her around truck.

Jones: This is 81?
Cruz: Indeed it is.
Jones: I brought donuts.

Mouch took the empty box.

Jones: They were delicious.
Mouch: So there's no donuts.
Jones: Nope.
Casey: Jones. Ready to meet chief?
Jones: Yes sir.
Casey: Where's your stuff.

I held the bag up.

Jones: Right there.
Casey: She's not your slave. Take it and let's go.

She came and got the bag. She struggled to take it inside.

Kendra: Girls a twig. Good luck guys.
Hermann: thanks Parker.

I walked inside.

Severide: Morning Parker
Kendra: Morning lieutenant.

I went and put my stuff into my locker.

Truck 81 Squad 3 ambo 61 woman trapped.

We went and suited up. We got in.

Severide: my vote Jones won't make it two weeks
Kendra: Girls a twig couldn't even carry her bag up the driveway.
Severide: She's going to look up to you. Help her out the slightest bit and she might put in a good word with her dad.

I nodded. We got to the call. Ambo was already there.

Casey: We need to cut this open. Hermann saw.

Jones ran and grabbed the saw. As she pulled it out she dropped it on the ground.

Hermann: Are you kidding me.
Casey: Is your name Hermann?
Jones: No sir.
Casey: Where the hell are you supposed to be.
Hermann: Blades busted.
Severide: Parker saw.

I ran to the truck and grabbed the saw. I took it to Severide.

Severide: Thanks.

They cut it open.

Gabby: I need blankets and a backboard now.

I took the saw from Severide and put it back.

Hermann: You were right.
Kendra: What can I say. I know a wimp when I see one.

He laughed.

Hermann: Just hope she's got our backs.

I patted his back.

Kendra: Even if she don't. I do.
Hermann: I know you do.

We sent the rig to med.

Casey: Kendra.

I looked at him.

Kendra: Lieutenant.
Casey: See what you can do with the new candidates attitude. Be my mentor that she doesn't know about. Watch her every move. My ears when I can't hear.
