I woke up. I went and got ready for work. I got the kids ready and then went and grabbed my stuff. I said goodbye and went to work. I walked in and put my stuff away. I went to meeting and then we ate.

Severide: Alright squad someone's gotta do-
Kendra: I'll do it
Severide: I didn't finish my sentence?
Kendra: It's inventory?
Severide: Yeah.

He handed me the clipboard. I went out and did inventory. I got a call from Erin but I didn't answer. Then something felt off. I put the clipboard on the table.

Kendra: Squad needs gas lieutenant.
Severide: Alright let's load up.

We went and got in.

Cruz: You alright Ken?
Kendra: Yeah.
Capp: It just me or does something feel off?
Severide: Not sure.

We got gas then went back to 51. Cars pulled up. I looked out the door on the other side. There was someone on the ground.

Kendra: Hey someone get gabby

I said as I ran. I got to the person. I checked for a pulse. Strong. He was blue. I opened his mouth.

Gabby: What'd we got?
Kendra: I think he's got something stuck in his throat
Gabby: Here.

She handed me tongs and the intabator. I put it in his mouth.

Gabby: Ew

I pulled out a half-eaten hot dog

Gabby: Bretts bringing the rig down.

Brett came over with the rig. They loaded him up and took off.

?: Hey!

I turned around.

?: Are you a firefighter?

A little boy around Evas age stood there.

Kendra: I am. What's up?

I looked around.

Kendra: Where's your mom?
?: She dropped me off here. She said she had things she needed to take care of and that the firemen would take care of me. She was really scared.
Kendra: Was she in a car?
?: No. we walked here.
Kendra: Where is she?

He pointed to a woman down the street.

Kendra: Go up and go inside.

He started walking up the driveway. I ran after the woman.

Kendra: Hey!

She turned around.

?: Please take care of my son. It's too dangerous for him with me.
Kendra: Why's that?
?: There's guys after me. Bad guys. They want me dead.
Kendra: They won't kill you on my watch. Come with me and I can get you safety.
?: No. I don't want any of you in harms way.
Kendra: We won't be. My husband, my dad, my sister, and my brother-in-law are all cops. They'll protect you.
?: are you sure?
Kendra: Positive.
?: Thank you.

We went to the fire house.

?: Mommy!
?: Hey buddy.
Hank: Everything ok?
Kendra: She said that some people were trying to kill her. I told her you guys would protect her.
Hank: Alright.

He went by her and they talked. Him and the two people and Al left.

Erin: why didn't you answer my call?
Kendra: Yeah sorry about that. I was busy.

She answered and left. I went inside.

Otis: Hey Kendra. Can you teach me the guitar?
Kendra: Hell yeah.
