The way things go ~~ a Antonio Dawson story

Uh oh

I woke up and grabbed my bag. Then went out. I got into the truck.

Antonio: Hey baby. How was shift?
Kendra: Ok I guess.
Antonio: What's Wrong, Are you ok?

I put my hands on my forehead.

Kendra: Yeah.
Antonio: I don't have to work until 10.
Kendra: Ok.

He put his hand on my thigh. He drove us to the apartment. We went in and I went and showered. I put my spandex on and another different sweater I'd stole from Antonio. I went out and ate with him. He started on the dishes. I went over by him and kissed him.

Kendra: I'm gonna go sleep.
Antonio: Ok baby.

He wrapped his arms around me. He kissed me, holding our hips together. I leaned against him. He picked me up and took me to our room. He laid me on the bed and covered me up. He kissed my forehead and went to close the blinds. As soon as it was really dark he shut the bathroom door. Then he came and sat next to me and put his hand on my stomach.

Antonio: The house is done.
Kendra: Really? That's awesome!
Antonio: Yeah. We can move in in a couple days.
Kendra: Yay.

I smiled. He kissed me.

Antonio: I love you.
Kendra: Love you to be careful, ok?
Antonio: I know baby. I will.

He smiled as he walked out. As soon as I heard the door close I fell asleep.

                      Antonio's POV

I walked out. I grabbed my stuff and went to the truck. I got in and went to work. I walked in and went upstiars. Erin came over.

Erin: Hows Kendra?
Antonio: Pretty Good. She's really tired.
Erin: I bet.

She put her hand on her shoulder with a comforting smile on her face. I went and sat down and began to study the case.

                             Erin's Pov

A couple hours passed and we're in the middle of the bust.

Jay: Man down man down.
Adam: Offender In custody.

We ran inside. Jay was holding pressure on Antonio's shoulder while calling for a ambo. The ambo came and took him away, me and Jay drove behind them. Adam took Antonio's keys and him and Kevin went to Kendra and Antonio's place.

                            Adams POV

We walked into Kendra's apartment.

Kevin: Erin said she was sleeping.

I walked into her room.

                           Kendra's POV

I woke up to someone shaking me.

Adam: Kendra wake up.

I looked at him.

Adam: We need to go to the hospital.
Kendra: Why?
Adam: Antonio was shot.

I got up and did my makeup and threw on a pair of jeans. I brushed my hair and went out. We went to their vehicle. I tried to keep my cool. We arrived. I followed them in and they sent us up to a private waiting room. I sat down next to Erin.

Erin: They took him into surgery.

I admired my ring for a while and looked at my phone. About five hours passed and Doctor Rhodes came out.

D. Rhodes: He is going to be fine. He is still unconscious. He should wake up soon.

He motioned for me to follow him so I did. He took me to a room where I saw Antonio lying on the bed sleeping. I went over and held his right hand. His left arm was the arm that was shot. I sat in the chair.

Kendra: I love you. And no matter how many times I tell you to be careful I know that you'll risk your life for this city. But just don't get yourself killed. Please.

He squeezed my hand. I smiled. We sat there while the team came in and talked to him. Soon the day ended and I went and laid on the couch.

Antonio: No don't you dare.
Kendra: What?
Antonio: Go home. I don't want you to think that you have to be here. Beside with the way you've been feeling you need rest.

I pretended to ignore him.

Antonio: Don't ignore me.

I looked at him.

Kendra: I'm staying here and that's final.
Antonio: No baby go home.
Kendra: What are you gonna do about it?

He sighed in defeat.

Antonio: at least come lay with me. Please?
Kendra: Ok I guess.

I went over and laid next to him with my head on the opposite shoulder that got shot. I looked at him. He was trying to sleep. I closed my eyes and soon fell asleep too.
