Third Person's P.O.V.

"Up we go..." Hinata said as she lifted little Himawari who was only around 7 months old, into her baby chair. It was the morning and it was breakfast time.

Boruto then came into the dining room and climbed up onto the chair that he usually sat on every morning. But he had an uneasy expression and almost looked a bit mad. He stared at the spot where Naruto usually sat every morning.

Hinata noticed her son's behavior and kneeled down at his level.

"What's wrong, Boruto?" Hinata asked with a soft voice.

Young Boruto looked at his mother than back at the chair.

"Where. Is. Daddy." He asked firmly.

Hinata smiled and rubbed the top of Boruto's head. "Daddy's gone out on an important mission."

"What kind of mission?" He asked with curiosity.

Hinata got up and walked towards the kitchen to get Himawari and Boruto's food. "It's a very simple mission, not like the other ones he used to have. Daddy went to a different city to help some people who are poor and don't have homes. He's there to help build homes quickly. He volunteered for it."

Boruto tilted his head sideways. "What does, vol-luhn-teer mean?"

Hinata looked at her son who looked just like Naruto. "It means that he didn't have to go, but he wanted. He wanted to help the people."

"When will daddy be back?"

Hinata walked back into the dining room and gave Himawari and Boruto their food.

"Do you miss daddy?" Hinata replied with a question.

Boruto nodded firmly. "Yes."

"When will daddy be back?" Boruto asked again.

Hinata laughed a bit, "He'll be back later today."

"When?"

"Maybe sometime around supper." She said.

"That's far away." Boruto complained.

Hinata went over to feed Himawari, "Daddy will be back before you know it."

It was already night time and Naruto wasn't home yet. Himawari was put to bed two hours ago and now it was Boruto's turn.

Boruto jumped up onto his bed but didn't lie down. Hinata walked into the room seeing that he was very energetic.

"I don't wanna go to bed!" Boruto proclaimed as he jumped down from his bed.

Hinata fixed the bed blankets. "Boruto... you have to go to sleep now."

"You said daddy would be back at supper." He said with a sad face. "But he's not back now."

Hinata sighed and lifted Boruto and gently placed him into bed. "I know I did. I'm sorry. Daddy probably had a few more things he had to do before he left. I'm sure he's on his way back home now, so I can say, when you wake up tomorrow, Daddy will be back home, okay?"

Boruto lid down in bed. "Do you promise?"

Hinata hesitated for a moment, "I promise he'll be back when you wake tomorrow. Now, go to sleep. The faster you go to sleep, the sooner you'll get to see daddy."

"Alright!"

An hour later and Hinata was sitting on the living room couch  reading. She then heard the door open and then close. Naruto was back. Hinata walked over to the front door and saw Naruto taking off his shoes.

She smiled, "Welcome back."

Naruto turned around, "Thanks."

"How did it go?" Hinata asked.

"It went really well, we ended up finishing around 50 completed houses. Of course, after a while it did get a little bit boring, but it's well worth it, ya know." He explained. "And you, how was your day? And the kids."

"Same as usual. Boruto has been waiting for you all day. I told him this morning that you would be home around supper time, so before I put him to bed, he was a little bit mad at me."

Naruto laughed, "Really? Well, tomorrow I got the day off, so I'm just going to stay home. That'll make him happy."

Hinata nodded, "It will."

Hinata's P.O.V.

I woke up to the sound of Boruto trying to wake up his father. I slowly opened my eyes and looked over to see Boruto on Naruto chest, shaking his shoulders, trying to wake him up.

"Wake up, wake up, wake up." He said over and over again.

"Boruto, leave your dad alone. What time is it anyways? Why are you up so early?" I said.

He looked at me. "I want. I want piggyback ride from daddy."

I then saw Naruto's eyes slowly open. He looked really tired. He needed more rest.

Naruto looked at our son and sighed. "What do you want, Boruto?"

"I want a piggyback ride." He said.

Naruto turned his head and looked over me. I smiled, "He's just a kid. Here, I'll take him back to his room and-"

"No, it's fine." Naruto said, cutting me off. He then lifted Boruto up and put him on his shoulders. He then stood up.

"Okayyyy, where do you want to go, buddy?" Naruto asked him. All of a sudden he didn't even look the slightest bit tired at all. Like he just wiped his tiredness away in a split second.

"I wanna go to the... kitchen!" Boruto replied.

"Alright, but when we pass Himawari's room let's be as quiet as possible okay?"

"Okayyyyy." Boruto answered, over exaggerating the whisper.

I watched as Naruto carried Boruto on his shoulders out our bedroom. And it was then when I had realized why Boruto loved his father so much. Naruto was always putting his children before himself, and wanted to do everything he could to make them happy. There are some days, I was  happy I married Naruto... and other days... I was really happy I married Naruto...
