Chapter 20

I couldn’t sleep. I look over to my phone and see it has only been thirty minutes. I carefully got off the bed so I won’t disturb Sebby. I throw on a training outfit and find their training room. I start working on my fighting skills. I can’t rest not while my family suffers in the hands of my enemy. I made a promise to them. I felt tears falling down my cheeks. I was brought out of my thoughts because the punching bag went flying into the wall. Great, I broke the bag and put a hole in their wall.

“That was pretty amazing.” I turn around and see Alpha Jones standing in the doorway. 

“Oh, I’m so sorry about the wall. I’ll fix it.” I said wiping tears with the back of my hand.

“It’s okay, I’ll fix it later. You know I never met a female let alone a female Alpha stronger than everyone I ever met.” he walked over and grabbed a new punching bag. He hung it up on the hook. 

“Why is that?” he said motioning me to hit the bag. 

“I honestly don’t know. I’ve always been like that I guess.” I said lightly hitting the bag. He gave me the look to hit harder. I don’t want to hurt him.

“Really, who are your parents?” he asked. Alpha Jones is only about twenty the same age as Sebby. He took over the position at fifteen but he’s done a pretty good job. He is also unmated. He thinks that Spencer is his mate but won’t know for sure until she turns either seventeen or eighteen. I’m not ready to let go of my baby sister but I can’t deny her her mate either. 

“Um…. my parents are dead.” I stop punching the bag and fall to the ground crying. 

“I’m sorry, I didn’t know.” he said coming to my side.

“I’m sorry for being emotional. I’m not like this really. It’s just I blame myself for not protecting them enough.” I sobbed on his shoulder. He let me. I finally calmed down enough to speak.

“My father was the pack warrior. He was so strong and fast. He died when I was ten. The twins’ were six years old. They don’t remember our father. A few years after his death, my mother grew sick each day. I thought it was because of losing her mate but it was cancer. Unfortunately, she died on my eighteenth birthday.” I said

“Because she grew sick, I had to do a lot of the chores around the house. I cleaned, cooked, took care of the twins everything. I even was going to high school and college at the same time. I worked three jobs to pay for my car, made sure they were happy, and the house.”

“That’s a lot of stress for a sixteen year old to take on.” he said

“Thanks Alpha Jones. This means a lot to me considering we might become family.” I giggled.

“Please, call me Derek.” he said. He was rubbing my back when he stopped. I knew he was feeling my giant scar I wear proudly now. 

“Wow.” 

“Ye… ahhhh.” I screamed in pain from the scar. 

“What’s wrong?” he’s kneeling now while I’m hunched over. I hear Sebby come in.

“It’s the scar. It only hurts her when she stressed our or getting ready to fight” Sebastian said

“It’s…. hurts,” I said, trying to breath. I don’t get it. It’s been a year and it still hurts from time to time. Well mostly when I work out too much. Alpha King did cut my muscles though.

“It hurts still sometimes?” Derek asked

“Y… yes,” I said. I could feel my wolf wanting to shift. I fight the urge. 

“I… need to go..get out..t of.. here.” I say trying to breath. I just feel this burning sensation on my back. I slowly get up off the ground but I stumble. Derek and Sebastian catch me. They take me outside and I shift on the spot. The burning is going away.

“So why did she shift?” Derek asked

“It helps with the pain, sense she got in wolf form.”

“What else can she do?” he asked

“Well, I saw her partially shift. That crap was scary. I was scared of her and I’m her mate.” Both men laugh and look at me sitting on the ground.

“Her wolf is beautiful and big.” Derek said.

“Yeah it’s bigger than mine,” Sebby said

“But how? She’s so sho…” before he could finish that I jumped on him. I tackle him to the ground. I growled.

“Don’t ever call me short.” I growled and got off him.

“And she’s scary. How can you deal with that.” he asked

“Well, I don’t piss her off.” Sebastian said, I growled at him.

“Right, I won’t piss her off anymore.” Sebby said
I nodded in agreement. Alpha Lake had arrived. He stops and looks at me.

“Is that?” he said pointing at me

“Yes, that is Ro” Sebby said. Then he goes and grabs me some clothes. I shift back behind a tree and change. Alpha Lake just stands there. I walk out from behind the tree.

“Wow, you have a big wolf for a female plus a female Alpha.” he said 

“I swear you call me short and I will shift and tackle you.” I pointed at Alpha Lake

“Dude believe her because she tackled me and I’m scared of her now.” Derek said. 

“Alright, we ready to go and get my siblings back?” I said

“Yes.” Lake said

“Okay, I’ll go wake up my warriors.” I said leaving the gentlemen to talk. I’m sure Alpha Lake saw the giant scar on my back. I get to Rin’s room and wake her up. Next I wake up Miysuki. I mind linked the rest to get up and suit up. I head back downstairs but they are in a big discussion. 

“Sebastian, you know Ro can’t fight, especially with her scar just hurting her literally two seconds ago.” Derek said.

“You guys saw her fight, we need her to fight.” Sebastian said trying to defend me

“Her siblings were taken and she wants to save them.” he continued 

“We can’t risk it.” Lake said. I go upstairs and put on my gear and assemble my warriors. I leave out the door, slamming it hard enough so they could hear. 

“Great, she’s going to go by herself.” Sebastian said. He opened the door and I was already gone.

“I’m going after her, Let’s go warriors!” he shouted and walked out the door.

Meanwhile, I’m running through the forest in my human form. 

I get to the place where they are hiding out. I finally found you. I feel Derek put his hand on my shoulder. I nodded at him. I see Alpha Lake came too. We nod at each other.
