Chapter 12

It felt so nice waking in my mate’s arms. I felt whole again. I carefully moved his arm from around my waist and headed into the bathroom. I showered and got dressed. I put on my black tank top and a pair of short shorts. I throw on my ankle high black boots. I brush my long hair and make sure it covers my scar. Let’s say that I’m not that comfortable with it yet. My mind keeps telling me that being with him is a bad idea and that he might hurt me, but at the same time my wolf tells me that he will never hurt me. I’m conflicted in my head. I head downstairs and see CeCe with her newborn babies.

“Hey Celina, the name Nolan. Did you name him after my father?” I asked

“Yes, it was Layton’s idea.”

“Why?”

“Because they just weren’t friends, they were brothers.” she said I go over and pick up Nolan

“What?!” 

“Yeah, wait you didn’t know?”

“No,” looking back I hardly ever knew my father. 

“Oh yeah, they are step brothers.”

“Really?” I said hurt and felt betrayed by my parents not telling me

‘Yeah. they were actually pretty close.”

“So you moved in with me until I was of age.” I said
“Yes, I was helping you with the twins so you could make money.” she said feeding River.

“Wow I guess I never knew my family as well as I thought I did.”

“Hey it’s okay. When you were born, Alpha King knew how strong you were going to be. He wanted you for himself. For years, he was looking for your mate so King could kill him and claim you as his on the day of your 18th. Your father didn’t let him. As your father’s punishment, they were sent to pack and  slaughtered pack by pack. He stood up to the King and he was killed.”

“Wait, I thought my father was killed in a rogue attack.”

“No sweetie, that’s what King said. But your mother, me and Layton knew what really happened.” 
I felt tears threatening to fall. I know what really happened to my father. Nolan cooed, bringing me some of my thoughts. I played with him until he fell asleep. Then I took River from her mother and played with her. I soon realized that it’s five o clock in the evening and I had to start making dinner for me, Sebastian, the twins, Celina and Layton. The rest of the pack don’t eat with us because they still don’t like that I’m the Alpha. My pack members have decreased. There were only about fifthteen  people in my pack, not including Sebastian’s. With his pack, I have about thirty-five to forty people. Well the numbers will increase, as the mates start having pups. I’m in the kitchen and making dinner. I sense someone behind me but I ignore it. Until I felt a hand grab me. I see Sebastian standing in front of me.

“Can I help you?” giving him the cold shoulder. I’ve adjusted to living with him. I just haven’t accepted him yet.

“Ouch, and here I thought we were getting closer.” he joked around

“Oh I’m sorry did I damage your ego?” I said sarcastically

“You are sassy. What’s wrong?” he asked, pressing his body against my back.

“Nothing. I’m fine. Now can you leave? I have to make dinner.” I said shoving him away from me. He looked at me with shock on his face. I knew exactly what he was thinking. How can a girl like me be stronger than a male? I’ve been asking the same question for years. I was always faster, smarter, and stronger than the kids. 

“How…”

“Don’t.” I said with a blank expression and cutting him off.

“Ok.” he left.

Dinner was done and we all sat around the table to eat. Laughter filled the room and I stayed quiet. I couldn’t help thinking about what Celina said. I always knew something was with Alpha King. He was nice to me but to everyone else he was mean and cruel. I guess now I knew why. I shook away that feeling if I didn’t stop him. Celina gave me the look and I just nodded. I'm fine. I cleared my table and went outside for a walk. As I was walking through the trees. The scents of rogues hit my nose. Oh no.

“Well well, what do we have here?” one rogues said

“Looks like female Alpha who is unmarked and unmated.” the second one said.

“Hey sweetheart can you talk?” the third said they were walking around me in a circle.

“What are you doing on my land, rouges?” I said not threatened by them

“Wow, I can’t smell fear. You know what that needs boys?” the first who is the leader said. 
“She is a very powerful Alpha and make a great bargaining chip for anything we want.” he said

Before I could react, the leader pushed me into a tree. He was taking in my scent. He tried forcing himself on me. I pushed him with just my normal strength and I sent him into a tree, snapping the tree into two. They gave the wide eyed look. They marveled at my power. 

“Ooo, she's really powerful. Forget about using her as a bargaining chip. Let’s mate her and take over her pack.” The first rogue leader got up and walked towards me. I shifted and jumped on him, ripping his head off. Shifted behind a tree and changed before they could look at me. They walked the tree to see I wasn’t there.The other two rogues lunged at me and I dodged them. They ran into each other.

“Who’s your mate?” he asked

“Alpha Timber” I said not even tired like the two rogues are.

“No he’s not real.” he said

“Yes he is.” I argued punching the second in the face

The third one pushed me into a tree and locked me against it. I hit my head when he did that. I couldn’t move. He was using his wolf strength. Even I couldn’t fight against it. His fangs came out and were inches away from my neck. I closed my eyes and suddenly the weight was lifted off of me. I open them and see a pure black wolf with yellow eyes. I was sitting on the ground. My legs couldn’t hold me up anymore. I saw Sebastian chane back and caught me before I hit the ground. My vision started to blurry then nothing.
