New Dawn In the Woods

Chapter 21

“Just make sure you can me inside that building.” I whisper. They all nod. I gave the signal to attack. All hell broke loose.  They did what I said. They are losing more rogues than we lost people. I made it inside. I come to five guards. I partially shift and tear their heads off. I tried to smell for my siblings. I found and locked onto their scents. I shifted back to normal.

“Find them yet?” Sebastian asked

“Yes, why aren’t you outside with the others?” I said as I started following the scent.

“We are already done outside. Derek told me to come help you but I guess you don’t need it.” he said looking around the room seeing the headless bodies. I just giggle and continue to follow my nose. I go deeper into the building. I come to the cells. I find them in cells next to each other. I brace myself not to freak out. I get Spencer and Sebastian gets Liam. I opened the cell and what I saw nothing could’ve prepared me for it.

“Oh my goddess, Spen.” I move close to her. Her hands are bound to the bars. She has cuts and bruises on her face and body. Her skin is pale. She looks up and sees me. She gets up and hugs me. She is so weak. I pick her up and carry her out of the cell, through the halls and outside. Derek takes Spencer and I turn and see the leader.

“It was you!” I said

“Ah yes you remember me.” he said with a cocky smile

“You did that to my sister?” I asked with anger radiating off of me. 

“Let me handle this guy.” Derek said

“Go for it.” He hands me Spencer and rips into the leader. I start walking back to his pack house, with my baby sister cradled in my arms. We destroyed  everything till there was nothing left. Everyone was dead. We took no prisoners. I make it back to Derek’s house. I take her to my room and place her on the bed. Sebastian puts Liam on a bed in the same room. Rin comes in and starts healing them. It will take a few days before they gain the color back in their skin. I pull up a chain next to Spencer. I didn’t want to leave her side. Her forehead is getting hot, I put a cold washcloth on her. Liam started groaning. I walked over to him. He is healing faster than Spencer is. That means they were giving her more concentrated doses of wolfsbane, which only meant one. I couldn’t bring myself to say it because my heart would break even more. She has four more years till she can find her mate. It’s common mates can find each other starting from the ages of sixteen to up. I didn’t find my mate until I was eighteen. Liam slowly woke up. Sebastian helped him. I was still waiting for Spencer. I never left her side.

“She never leaves her side.” Sebastian said

“I know.” Derek replied. I was sleeping by my sister's bed side. I heard them.

“She never eats or drinks. I’m worried for her.” Sebby sighed.

“Yeah, I think Spencer is my mate so my wolf is freaking out.” Derek said

“Wow, that must be rough. I went through what you are going through right now.” Sebastian sighed

“Really?”

“Yeah, when Ro risked her life for others, she was like how Spencer is now. She is the best Alpha I ever met. It’s killing me to see her hurting like this.” aw my mate is the best. 

“Yeah,” 
I woke up from Spencer twitching and moving around. She was having a nightmare. I soothed her which calmed her. When the boys left, I silently cried to myself. It was my fault we are in this position. It’s my fault I didn’t protect them. I get up and run out of the house. I just needed to get out of here. I ran up to a tree. I started punching it as hot tears fell down my cheeks. I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around me and pull me into a hug. It was Sebastian. He held me as I cried. I eventually fell asleep in his arms as my tears were streaming down my cheeks.
