New Dawn In the Woods

Chapter 4

As the weeks passed, the  twins birthday is closing in on me. I have been busy preparing for their first shift. Their birthday is on a saturday this year which is a week and a half away. I finished making Spencer’s dress that she asked for. Layton and Celina went on a four day vacation because Celina’s pregnancy is taking a poll on her. They find out the baby's gender in four weeks. Layton wants boys and Celina wants girls. They will be happy either way. Without Celina to help me, I had to do everything myself. I had to find a place to hold the party, find balloons, and buy birthday gifts for them. Lucky I picked up a few shifts at the diner for more money to afford all of this. I also had to design the invitations as well. I had a very big fashion show coming up in a couple of months. It was a crazy day but I managed to do it all in one day. 
 
It is the next morning. I got up at five am for my daily run. I grabbed a protein drink and headed out the door. I headed to the forest line and shifted. I ran through the trees dashing and jumping around. An unfamiliar scent filled my nostrils. I followed it to a cave and there stood a beautiful tall girl. She was taller than me by nine inches. She has beautiful long, curly black hair. She has light blue eyes and freckles under them. I was interrupted from my thoughts when a sharp pain spread through my body. I noticed I was on the ground pinned by this girl. My wolf winced by the pain telling me I’m still in wolf form.

“How did you find me?” she growled looking terrified.

“I… I didn’t mean to. I was just running around the forest until I caught your scent. Please don’t hurt me.” I said scared. She backed off viewing my wolf thinking if I’m a threat to her or not. 

Her wolf is so beautiful. She has a black mossel, black paws, the outside of her ears are black, both hind legs are full black except for a streak going up her legs, black thick strips on her back going to the tip of her tail. The rest was white. She had gold bracelets on her front legs and had her tail. She had one ruby red eye and the other is an icy blue color. We circled around each other. 

“Who are you?” she said sitting down mentioning me to sit across from her. 

“My name is Rosalina Jaeger but you can call me Rosie. Everyone else does.” I said pleasantly trying to hide my pain. She was so strong.

“Hi Rosie, I’m…” she hesitated because she didn’t know if she could trust me. But she did and I don’t why.

“It’s Rin. my name. Sorry about hurting you by the way I know you are trying to hide it but you can’t fool me.” she said letting out a sigh

“Oh, it’s nothing. I’ll be fine. Rin how old are you?” 

“Um… sixteen.” there was a long pause

“What are you doing all by yourself? Where is your family? They must be worried sick.” 

“I don’t have a family anymore. They were killed.” Rin cried. I shifted back to human form wearing just my bra and underwear. I walked up to her and gave her a hug. I felt bad for her. 

“Hey you know what? You can come live with me and my siblings. I have an extra spare bedroom I cleaned up. You can stay there.” I said, pulling away.

“Really?” she was excited.

“Yes.” I shifted again and nudged her with my head. She didn’t have any except clothes. We walked through the trees back to my house. Luckily I didn’t live on the territory or otherwise there would be problems. We shifted and changed then walked into the house. I forgot I was out all day. I called up Amanda to drop off Liam and Spencer home. I showed Rin her room. She even has her own bathroom. I just replenished the shampoo and conditioner plus body wash. While she was in the shower, the twins walked in. 

“Something smells good.” Liam said. 

“Rosie, who’s here?” Spencer asked, getting angry.

“Whoa calm down, it’s an old friend of mine she lost her family and is on her own so I took her in. If that’s okay with you guys?” I asked.

“Oh okay what happened?”

“They were killed.”

“Oh”

“But do not mention it to her. She’s still pretty sensitive.” I said.
Dinner was done and Rin came downstairs. 

“Wow, your house and everything is awesome. You live alone? Where are your parents?” she said. We sat down to eat.

“Um… dad passed away when I was ten and mom passed away just recently on my birthday.” 

“Oh, I’m sorry.” she said.

“It’s fine. We got through it didn’t we?” I look at Spencer and Lima stuffing their faces like usual. 

“Oh Rin that is Spencer and Liam.” 
“They are twins.” 

“Yes.” 

How old?”

“Eleven but their birthday is coming up and so is their first shift.” 

“That’s cool.”  

“Yea. You are really strong for a sixteen year old.”

“Yeah, my dad was strong. He taught me how to fight. Mom died when I was born.” 

“Wow that sucks. Well hey now you are a part of my family now.” 
We finish dinner. Rin helped with clearing the table and washing dishes. I gave her some jammies and she went to her room. I put the twins to bed and I headed to my room. I took a nice hot shower. I remove my towel to look at my back and notice a big ugly bruise. 

“That’s gonna hurt in the morning.” I sighed. I changed and went to bed.
