New Dawn In the Woods

Chapter 8

A few months passed since the meeting with the council and me becoming an Alpha. The council can’t control me because I broke away from them. They think a female can’t run a pack. I’m going to prove them wrong. Over the few months, I’ve been building my reputation and my back. Unfortunately, quite a few of the pack members left because they didn’t want a girl for an Alpha. So I only have ten members not including Rin, my siblings, my best friend and her mate. Celina has been getting bigger everyday. The doctor said she could give birth here in the next couple of weeks. Rin has been helping me build the reputation of the pack. She is the torturer and the best tracker of the pack. We had rogues and hunters on our territory. I went through the pack records and a pack that has quite a few unmated wolves. 

“Hello? Is this Sebastian Timber?” I asked. For some reason his voice sounded familiar to me.

“Yes, who is this?”

“Hi, My name is Rosie Jaeger. I’m the Alpha of The Blood Moon pack. I was looking at your pack record and it says here that you have quite a few unmated males in your pack. I have females and males unmated. I want to set up a meeting with you tomorrow night on my territory. You also border the northern part of my territory. Would you be interested in joining packs?”

“Of course I would be. I look forward to meeting you Rosie. What time do you want us there?”

“8pm. Don’t worry about the rogues and hunters, I have someone patrolling the territory so they won’t follow you. They won’t be an issue. I have plenty of room for all of you. I had the pack house expanded.”

“Alright, see you tomorrow Rosie.” there was something about the way he said my name.

His pack is called The Moonlight Pack. So I took the girls dress shopping today except for Rin who doesn’t have a mate. She will be checking around the territory for hunters or rogues the night of the ball. It is tradition to wear a long dress. Once we all got what we needed, we headed home and had a big dinner. Celina and I made dinner. We all ate as laughter filled the place. I finally had a family after all. I just didn’t realize it until now. 

It’s the next day and there was a lot of preparing to do. It is five o’clock in the morning. Time for my daily run. I change into my athletic clothes and drink an energy drink. I head out to the woods and shift. I can feel the dirt on my paws. I took off into the woods. A dirty scent filled my nostrils. Rogue. All of a sudden, a wolf joined me in front of me. He growled baring his teeth at me. I realized I was at the northern border. I was on my land and so was the rogue except there was a wolf on the other side. It was like he was watching to see if I could handle this wolf and if not he would save me. I was distracted that the rogue attacked me. He threw me into a tree. I yelped in pain. I got up and jumped on his back. I ripped into his shoulders. He shook me off and bit me. I yelped again. I got up and grabbed his throat, with one stroke I ripped it out killing him. The other wolf looking at me nodded his head in approval then left. I head back to the house and realize I’ve been out all day. It’s time to get ready for the ball. Everyone is ready in the ballroom. 

“Ro, I’m positioned for patrol.” “Good. I don’t want a surprise tonight especially since I was attacked this morning. We need to make sure everything goes well tonight.” “Yes, Alpha.” I closed off the mindlink and got dressed. I didn’t buy a dress because I made one. It’s a long flowy, sunset color. It is strapless. I look at the mirror and that there’s a scar on my shoulder from the fight. I let my hair down to cover the scar. I head to the ballroom where my pack is waiting. Rin mindlinked me. 
“They are here. Alpha. I’m sending them to the ballroom now. Their Alpha is with them. He is leading his pack.” “Ok thanks.”  I closed the mindlink. I walked up to the stage. The pack is here and living up the room. Both packs found their mates. That’s when I saw him. My wolf was going crazy. Mate. He’s six foot one. He is devilishly handsome with his worn out jacket and black ripped jeans. My mate is Sebastian Timber. 

“Hello, you must Rosie.” he gave me a smile, reaching his hand out. I smiled and shook his hand.” 

“Yes, you are Sebastian. Welcome to my home and pack. I hope you like it here. If you need anything, I’m sure you can find my office. Have a good night Sebastian.” 

“Wait.” he gently grabbed my arm. The moment he touched me, I felt the sparks. I turned my head and doing that my hair moved revealing my giant scar on my shoulder. He looked surprised and hurt at the same time. 

“Yes?” I said getting a little irritated. Then he lifted up my arm revealing a bite mark from the attack earlier. How did he know about it? Unless he was the wolf watching me. I quickly took back my arm and walked off. I stopped and goodnight and headed to my room for the night. 

I got to my room and walked to my bathroom. I turned on the shower and stripped down. I got under the water and relaxed myself. When my shower was done, I wrapped myself in a pink towel and started looking at the bite mark. It’s healing. It should be healed in a couple days. It won’t scar which is good. I walked into my room and I saw Sebastian standing in front of me. 

“What are you doing in my room?” I yelled.

“I had to see if you were okay. I saw you fight that rogue.” 

“It was you watching me.” 
“Yeah. I wanted to help but didn’t want to give it away.”

“You knew that I’m your mate. You were masking your scent this morning.”

“Yes. How did you get that giant scar on your shoulder?” 

“I won’t say. You need to leave.” I was pushing him out of my room. When he’s gone, I realized that I’m wearing a towel. Oh boy. This boy is gonna be the death of me. I’m not fond of him. I changed and went to bed.
