New Dawn In the Woods

Chapter 14

I woke to the warmth of my mate. I had my birthday yesterday. I’m nineteen years old. Sebastian had a lot of explaining to do. I rolled over to face him.

“I could get used to this.” he said, placing a kiss on my forehead.

“You have some explaining to do.” I said, pulling away from him and sitting up.

“What do you mean?” he asked confused

“I remember what the rogues said to me the night I was attacked.”

“What did they say?” he asked, a little irritated as he knew what I was talking about. 

“They seemed to know you and your reputation.” 

“Oh…” 

“They actually knew who Sebastian was.” I said frustrated

“Uh… I didn’t want you to find out. I wanted to forget that. I found out that you were my mate and you were in the forest. I knew where your hiding place was. I followed you. I knew you would be in danger being my mate. I didn’t mark you just to save your life. I also did it to protect you.” he said standing up and walking to me. I didn’t realize I was standing until he was standing in front of me. Holy moly he towered over me. Here I am at five foot and he’s six two. I didn’t fear him or nothing. 

“How are you not afraid of me even after finding out who I really am or how you're not showing any desire for me?” he said running his finger down my cheek. I tried not to show any emotion. My wolf however craved his touch. I reminded her what King tried to do to us, but she said that our mate won’t hurt us. Well clearly he did because he forcefully marked me.

“Roise don’t be that way. He won’t hurt us.”

“Nora, he did hurt us. He forcefully marked us. I don’t recall giving him consent.”

“Ro he did it to protect us. Get over yourself Ro. What’s stopping you from being happy.”

“You wouldn’t understand Nora.” With that I cut her off. 

Sebastian is still standing in front of me. I fear that I wouldn’t hold out much longer but I have to try. I gather my energy and move out of my way. I didn’t even use my wolf strength.

“Hey don’t use your wolf strength on me, missy.” he said grabbing my wrist and pinning me to the wall.

“I didn’t. That’s my normal strength.” I said fighting against. He is using his wolf strength on me. 

“Yeah you think that a girl like you has that much strength.” he said sarcastically

“You're the one using it and would you let go of me.” I finally fought against

“How did you know?” 

“Because I wasn’t. If I was using my wolf strength you wouldn’t be standing here.” I turned on my heel and left him standing there. 

Goddess. Why does he have to provoke me? I didn’t do anything wrong. I started walking to my office. I went into the closet and pulled out a change of clothes. Yes there is a closet in my office and there is also a bathroom. I head into the bathroom and change my clothes. I put on a white button down shirt. I paired it with black ripped jeans and my usual black ankle boots. I spent all day in my office until I was called to the South borders. 

I leave my office and head out to the forest. I see Sebastian leaving my room. I looked at him and looked away and ran outside to the trees. He must have asked what was going on and followed me. I was wavering between the trees. Not even Sebastian could keep up. I see Rin standing fifteen feet from the border.

“What’s going on” I whispered as I approached her. 

“Rogues were spotted roaming on our territory.”

“More rogues! Why are they always trying to go for me?”

“I don’t know maybe because you're the most feared female Alpha to ever live and therefore makes you a target. Or it could be because of your mate, Sebastian.” she shot him a glare

“Hey, sorry I became a feared and strong Alpha.” he said trying to make a comeback but failed. 

“Hey you two not the time or place.” I was cut off when I heard voices behind us.

“Well well what do we have here?” the first rogue asked. 

“Looks like the girl wasn’t lying afterall.” the second one commented. 

“She has quite the reputation doesn’t she? I mean she did kill Alpha King. He was pretty strong and powerful.” the third one said. There were a couple more. 

They circled us like pray.
“It’s a pity that he marked her. I would have loved to  do her.” the fourth one said making me and Sebastian growl. 

“Well since the Alpha is here, we can send the others to attack the pack” the first said

“Don’t you even think about it.” I said forcing a shift but I couldn’t. I did a partial shift. No female has ever done that because they were never strong enough. I partly shifted, ripping the first rogue’s head off. The others growled and lunged for me. I completed my full shift. I jumped on the back of the second one and tore into him. His body went limp. Sebastian was under the third one trying to fight him in human form. I jumped on his back and snapped his neck. 

“Hey I had that one.” he shouted

“Get back to the pack now.” I said tearing apart the fourth one. He did what I said. But before he left, he looked at my coat stained with the blood from the rogues. 

Rin killed the fifth rogue. I nodded and we headed back to the house. I see the bodies of the rogues. Sebastian came up to me.

“I have to hand it to you Ro, you know how to train wolves.”
I nodded. He sprayed me with the hose to clean off the blood. My fur was snow white again. I shifted and put on my clothes from earlier. 

I stood up to be only knocked back. I felt a heavy weight on my chest. I open my eyes and see a rogue sitting on me. Before he could do anything to me. I shifted my weight and turned him back. I punched until he was unconscious. Sebastian tried to step in but when he saw me beat the guy to a pulp he didn’t. I got up and felt really dizzy. Sebastian started to walk towards me to catch me but I put my hand up to him. 

“Let me help you.” he said
“No Sebby I got it.” I said starting to walk. I’m wobbling but I’m fine.

“Sebby?” he said confused

“It’s your new nickname.” I said giggling. I must have hit my head harder than I thought. 

“Well then shorty. Come on you can barely walk.” he said

“Don’t call me shorty.” I said I must have done something to lose my balance because I felt his arm wrap around my waist. 

“Don’t call me Sebby then.” he whispered in my ear.

He led me to my room and sat me on my bed. Then he went and got Layton. 

“She hit her head.” he said

“Ok, let’s check you out here Ro.” Layton said I nodded

“Your pupils are reacting a little slow to the light. So you might have a small concussion. So you will need to watch her tonight Sebastian. Make sure she doesn’t fall asleep.” he said and left the room. 

“You heard the man shortly. I have to watch over you.” he said smirking

“You can at least drop the smirk. Don’t act so excited.” I said leaning forward and closing my eyes.

“Woah, hey Ro open your eyes, come on open yours eyes.” he said. I did. I didn’t want to because the light was hurting my eyes. I groaned. I got out of his grasp and curled up to my head board and leaned against it. He did the same. He was comforting me. He put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into his chest. He was surprised when I didn’t fight back, instead I just relaxed into his chest. The last thing I remember was being so close to him.
