New Dawn In the Woods

Chapter 7

I could feel my body waking up from the pain of my shoulder. I slowly open my eyelids and I see Spencer with her head on the bed. She is holding my hand. I look over and see that Liam is sleeping in a chair. My mind is racing to what happened and how I ended up in the hospital. Spencer stirs a little then wakes up. The look on her face tells me that I have been out for a while. She gently wraps her arms about me pulling me into a hug. Her tears soak the hospital gown. 

“What happened?” I asked, disoriented and confused. 

“Well after Rin came to get us from the cabin, we got back to the house to see you kill Alpha King. Then you passed out.” 

“How long was I out?”

“About a week.”

“How and why?”

“Well he got you ready bad on the shoulder and the alpha power transferred to you so you needed time to help and gain everything to be an alpha. Your wolf got bigger with the transition causing you to faint. The wound on your shoulder is healed because you were transitioning. You will be sore for the next few days. I’m just glad you are okay. What did he do to you?”

“He… he tried to hurt me. He wanted to mate me and kill you and Liam. I couldn't let that happen. When do you change back?”

“The morning after our birthday. I can see why you like being a wolf. I felt free.” She's our little dreamer. We love her because she has a big kind heart.

“I’m glad you guys got away and happy to see your change went well. Your wolf reminded me of mom and dad. We will start working on controlling your wolf and shifting at will. It won’t take long, just a couple of months.”

“Wow, okay!” she is so excited. She woke up Liam.

“Oh my goddess, Ro you are okay.” he wrapped me in a tight hug until I winced in pain. He let go and apologized but it was fine. He was very happy to see me. We all laughed until a familiar face walked in. 

“OH MY GODDESS you are okay. I’m so happy. When you fainted, I was so worried sick.” CeCe came in looking more pregnant. So I missed my fashion show deadline. Celina told them that I had an accident and that they rescheduled it next week. She is also going to find out the gender for her twins today. She’s excited. Layton also has been spending a lot of time with her. I’m happy for them. The nurse brought me the hospital food. Ewww, this food is gross. I hate hospital food. I really want a big juicy cheeseburger with pickles. Just before visiting hours were over, CeCe brought me a cheeseburger after asking the nurse if I could have it. Yes, I love this girl. I take it from her. I unwrap it and sink my teeth in the burger. I take a bite from it as CeCe starts talking about her pups. 

“I had my appointment today. I found what my pups are going to be.”
I swallowed before talking. 

“That’s great. Thank you so much for the cheeseburger. I’m so over the food here. When can I go home?”

“Here soon. They just want you here for tonight then you can go home tomorrow. You can’t go to your house. You have to go to the pack house because you are the Alpha now.”

“Right. I almost forgot about that. Now will you please tell me what you are having?”

“Haha ok. I’m having a girl and boy.”

“That’s amazing. I’m so happy for you CeCe. You deserve this. So you being Alpha now, does that make me your Beta now?” 

“Yes. You are my Beta. Are you okay with it?”

“Yes, of course I am. It’s not every day your BFF becomes an Alpha.”

“I’m glad you're happy about it.” 

“Excuse me Alpha, Beta visiting hours are over for the night.” 

“Alright. I’ll be back to pick you up in the morning okay?” I whined in response because I wanna go home now. I miss my room. I miss my stuffed animals. I miss my bed. The nurse turned off my room light. I tried to sleep but I couldn’t. I was tossing and turning all night. I mean I did sleep for a week. So I wasn’t really tired. I eventually did fall asleep. I was woken up by CeCe holding my clothes.

“Come on sleepyhead get up. It’s time to leave.” 

“Awesome.” I spring out of bed and push her out so I can get dressed. Why am I wearing formal clothes?

“Um… the wolf council is here. They are demanding to see you.”

“So that’s why I’m wearing these clothes.”

“Yep.”

“What do they want?”

“I don’t know.”  We head out of the hospital and head to the pack house for the meeting. 

“Ah there’s the newly transitioned Alpha but why are you a girl?” 

“What? Can’t an Alpha be a female?” I said because in their minds only males are worthy.

“No and plus you are unmated. You can not be an Alpha. You still don’t understand the powers you have of being an Alpha.”

“What? You think that I don’t have what it takes to be a good Alpha?” 

“No we don’t because you are a girl. A weak little girl.” The head council leader was raising his voice.

“You killed one of the greatest Alpha’s to ever live.”

“He was a terrible Alpha. He killed his only son and tried to force mate me. I had to kill him.” My anger was radiating off of me and the council was looking at me scared.

“I will not abide by your rules. I’m changing the pack’s name to The Blood Moon Pack. Thank you for your time Alphas but I will not listen to you.” I walked out of the room shutting the doors behind me. 

I heard a loud snap and turned around to see that I broke the doors. The Alphas looked at me in shock to realize how strong I really am as an Alpha and realized they lost someone as powerful as me. CeCe showed me my new room in the pack house. Spencer and Liam already settled themselves in their new bigger rooms here. I took a hot shower to rinse the smell of the hospital off of me. While I was in the shower, Celina brought me dinner. It’s my favorite thing. Cheeseburgers! I ate my dinner and watched a movie. I went to bed and I promise I won’t let anything harm come to this pack ever or my family. So to all the hunters and rogues out there watch out you never met someone like me before.
