"We've got to get them to not like us."

I chuckled. "Ben your overreacting. She kissed me on the cheek not the mouth, the cheek."

"She likes you." He paced back and forth like he was trying to figure out the words hardest math formula. I shook my head, getting dizzy. "That doesn't mean I like her back." I looked away. "In fact I think she's a bit annoying." I muttered through my teeth. "Besides she's not my type."

"What is your type?" He stopped directly four feet in front of me. I shrugged. "Uh... you."

"Alright, well that's good to know." He scoffed.

"I'm serious." I sighed. "I would never cheat on you... I know what it feels like. It makes you lose all the trust you built up during you relationship and it drains you in all ways. I'd never want to hurt you or put you through what that felt like." I stood, rubbing my temples with my hand.  He made his way over to me. "I'm not saying you would, Felix." He put his arms around me and I leaned into his chest. "Then... what are you saying?" I asked.

"I... I don't know. I'm sorry." He sighed through this nose and kissed the top of my head. "I'm being overprotective... I guess."

"Yeah." I chuckled. He made a clicking sound with his tongue then pinched my side. I gasped the rubbed my side. "Ow." I chuckled. "You-."

The door swung open and Ben pushed me causing me to almost fall over the seat I was sitting in previously. He looked at me apologizingly as Nea stepped in our house. "Hey, guys." She said smiling her usual bright smile.

"Sorry, she insisted on doing something for Felix's birthday. I told her to leave yous alone."Amelia came in behind her. I clenched my teeth and Ben and I stole a glance at each other. "Um... it's fine."

He mouth my name and I shrugged mouthing 'I don't know'. What was I supposed to do kick them out?

"I brought wine and we're making you dinner." She walked to the kitchen and set down a grocery bag full of stuff. I took a deep breath in and let it out. "Thanks, Nea."

"Mhm, you two have a seat. Mia'll pour the wine and I'll get cooking."

——

Nea is actually a pretty good cook, and now that I've had food I didn't really mind that she bursted into mine and Ben's alone time.

No, I did but whatever.

"So, I was thinking..." Amelia started, glancing at her sister. "We could all go on a double date?" She suggested, shrugging. I glanced at Ben who sat up straighter. "Amelia, I-." He started.

"Why not? It'll be fun. We could go eat the dinner, go for brunch." She shrugged, smiling at Ben. I didn't even want to glance at Nea.

"I should te-."

"Is it weird because I'm your childhood best friend?" She grimaced. Ben shook his head, I could tell he was trying to let her down easy but that wasn't going to be easy. "It's... weird because I'm not interested in f-."

"In me? Oh, that's okay." She scratched the back of her neck. Ben sighed. "Escúchame, por favor." He said in a slightly annoyed tone.

"Sorry." She said. "Nervous habit."

Ben sighed. "I know... anyways what I was about to tell you is... that I'm not interested in you because I... am gay."

Both the sisters had a confused look on their face then looked at me and then back to Ben.

"I- oh?" Nea said, looking at her plate in front of her. Amelia shook her head with a raised eyebrow. "Soooo you two are... dating?"

"It's so obvious now." Nea said. Amelia elbowed her. Ben chuckled and nodded. "Yes, Felix and I are... boyfriends."
