I decided to sit back down in the chair after an hour of waiting and just as I did the door opened and I stood up again, hands folded in front of me.
What's going to happen? Hopefully, I won't be killed in the near future.
I turned to see Ortiz standing at the door. He nodded swiftly. "Señor Rivera sent me to show you where you'll be staying." He said in the same monotonous voice, I only ever heard him speak in. He nodded stiffly and turned walking down a hallway, I scurried after him with my bag of stuff clutched to my chest. I looked around the mansion, the walls were bare and painted a blindingly white color. I had to blink hard and keep my focus on the back of Ortiz's head to keep from seeing spots. "C- can I ask a question?"
He didn't respond he just looked at me with a blank expression as we stepped onto an elevator, which I noticed had buttons one through six. I looked at him again, and asked anyway even though he didn't respond. "What is it that you guys do here?"
I watched him press the fifth button and looked up to the mirrored ceiling of the elevator. The elevator came to a sudden jolting stop and I looked at Ortiz questioningly. He just got out, so I followed him.
I noticed that this hallway wasn't as bright as the one downstairs. It also was more decorated (by "more" I meant decorated with two paintings) with paintings of a castle against a dark sky and one of a golden starred constellation in a deep blue sky.
I scoffed. "Noche..."
Ortiz stopped opening a door, a rush of cold air hit my face and I shivered. He looked at me, waiting for me to go inside. Once I did, he put a hand on the knob and looked me directly in the eye. "Everything you need is in the room. Rivera says don't be late for dinner." He closed the door.
"What... time is dinner?" I furrowed my eyebrows and sighed. I sat on the bed taking in my surroundings the room was huge, even bigger then the size of my apartment. It was elegantly decorated with a lot of gold and white, even the bed frame had gold trimmings and white sheets. I sprawled my hand out over the comforter then felt cold to the touch but I could tell they'd keep me warm at night.
I looked around for a heater or something to heat the room up.
No luck, so I just decided to take a shower and get dressed in the bathroom while there was still warmth the steam. Ortiz was right, everything I needed was here from shampoos, to conditioners, and body washes, to toothbrushes and toothpaste even cologne and hair gel.
I didn't bother with most of it, mostly because I didn't want to be late for dinner. Whatever it was... I figured this Rivera dude is already made why piss him off more, so I hurried to get dressed.
My stomach growled as I made my way down the hallway to the elevator.
Wait... which floor am I supposed to go to? I'll just go to the first floor, I guess.
Just as I was about to press the button the elevator doors opened and the boy from earlier popped his head out between the doors. I blinked at him. He smiled a big smile. "Hey, Noche!"
"That's... not my name." I frowned.
"Cool, I'm here to show you to dinner." He grabbed my shirt and dragged me into the elevator. I smoothed my shirt out from the wrinkles he caused and held my hands behind my back. "Um question... why am I here?"
Or much rather why'd you guys kidnap me?
The kid rolled his eyes. "Must you ask so many questions, Noche?" He sighed, it was loud and didn't sound real (if that makes sense). It was more like he was putting on an act. "My unc- er "señor Rivera"... didn't think someone like you could even find the link to that website." He said senor Rivera almost sarcastically, like he was making fun of him.
