Chapter Five: The Cerise Laboratory

(Possibly my favourite header out of the ones I've done so far.)

The next day, Y/N showed up at the Cerise Laboratory, where Ash and Goh had told her to go. 

"Y/N!" yelled Ash, waving enthusiastically to her from a window.

"Ash! Shut up, will you? It's only six in the morning." said Goh.

"Oh! Did I arrive too early? I can come back tomorrow if you'd like..." she mumbled, but the two boys had already stumbled down the stairs, appearing at the front door.

"It's alright, Y/N! Come in." replied Goh, with Ash practically dragging her inside.

It was an incredible place, but Y/N had already been to the opening ceremony of it, so she was not too amazed when seeing it for the second time. 

"This is where we work." declared Ash dramatically, his voice full of exaggeration.

"It really is extraordinary. It must be amazing to work here." she exclaimed.

A man with slightly messy maroon hair, and a pair of smart glasses walked in.

"Ash, Goh!" he said, amusement in his voice. "Since when do you two wake up early?"

"Professor, meet Y/N!" said Ash, grinning. 

"H-hello." she stuttered.

"Ah, so you're Y/N? Ash and Goh said a lot about you last night." he chuckled.

"They did?" she asked, surprised.

"Well, uh, we should probably be going..." said Ash hurriedly.

"Going where?" asked Professor Cerise. "I haven't given you a region or anywhere to go to."

Y/N could see Ash was struggling to make an excuse.

"We could show Y/N Cerise Park!" suggested Goh.

"Brilliant idea!" remarked Professor Cerise.

"Oh, by the way, Professor, has Chloe arrived yet?" asked Goh politely.

"Not yet, Goh!" laughed Professor Cerise. "It's only 6:15 A.M. I'll tell you when she comes."

If you're writing time periods, write A.M, not am. This is because it is an acronym. Correct your teacher next time he/she does so and earn everyone's respect!)

The two boys ran outside, Y/N following them, for she had only seen the inside of the Cerise Research Laboratory. She was greeted with the sound of what seemed to be lie stampeding Pokemon, and quickly jumped back, narrowly escaping.

"Are you alright?" asked Ash frantically.

"I'm fine." she said, dusting herself off. "Were they yours, or Goh's?"

"Sorry, Y/N!" called out Goh, who was lecturing his Pokemon on manners.

"It's fine!" she replied. "So, do you have any Pokemon other than Pikachu?"

"Only one," he said. "My Dragonite, which I found on Dragonite Island. Goh has lots of them though. His dream is to catch all the Pokemon in existence, including Mew. I want to become a Pokemon Master!" he declared, perhaps a little more pompously than usual. "All my other Pokemon are at home, in Pallet Town, all 152 of them."

Y/N nodded.

"Y/N!" yelled Goh. "Come see my Pokemon!"

"Coming!" she said.

She and Ash ran to where Goh was standing. Ash was quite right. She counted at least forty Pokemon, including all the Bug types in Kanto.

"You caught all the Bug types in Kanto?" she asked, impressed.

"I guess you could say that..." he replied, trying to be modest but failing miserably.

"He didn't battle them," Ash said dismissively. "He just threw balls at them."

Y/N chuckled.

"No need to blurt it out like that!" Goh argued.

"It's true." said Ash. "While we're on the subject of Pokemon, can we see yours? You must have a lot, and they must be really powerful, too! Your Cinderace looks like it is."

"T-that's true." said Y/N. "I guess it's only fair since you've shown me yours."

She took out all her Pokemon, careful to omit Zamazenta's and Eternatus' balls.

"You have an Inteleon?"

"Your Rillaboom is incredible!"

"Wow! Alakazam can Mega Evolve!"

"Hatterene looks so powerful!"

On and on they went with their compliments.

"Hey, I know!" Ash said. "Let's have a battle!"

"Ash," said Goh. "The Professor told us to show her around! You can't just ask every single person you see to have a battle with you!"

Just then, luckily for Ash, Chloe arrived.

"Hi, Ash, Goh," she said, her voice impassive. "Who's this? A friend of yours?"

"Her name's Y/N!" replied Ash enthusiastically before Goh could answer. "She got so many Pokemon, and they look powerful, too!"

"Nice to meet you, Y/N." she said, in the same tone she used before. "Dad mentioned you and told me to call the three of you. Oh, and Goh, take care of Yamper for me. Mom needs to go to a conference, and she's taking Parker."

A little surprised why the Professor would need her as well as the boys, Y/N went back inside, the other two walking in trepidation along side her.

"Ash, Goh!" smiled Professor Cerise. "I'd like you to meet your new research fellow, Y/N!"

"Wait, what?" said Y/N, shocked.

"That is, if you'd like to." added the Professor.

"Please say yes, Y/N!" Ash chided in.

"It would be great working with you!" said Goh.

"Alright, then..." she smiled, as Ash and Goh cheered loudly.
