The H/C haired girl drummed her fingers impatiently on the side window, sighing in dismay.
"Your report."
A flight attendant handed her a pile of documents.
"The person told me to give it to you." she said.
"Thank you. Might I ask the name of this person?" enquired Y/N.
The attendant chewed her lip, then hesitated. It was clear that she did not want to say who it was, or at the very least, could not say who it was.
"Mr. Ash Ketchum, your honour." she said, bowing then departing.
Y/N jumped with a start. Did she not specifically tell him to ignore her? And yet still...
"Wait." ordered the girl.
The attendant turned around, somewhat afraid of the aloof Champion.
"Tell me why he sent me this."
As Y/N continued to glare coolly at her, the attendant thought for a moment.
"I am not sure, your honour. However, when he told me to give this to you, he was holding a Pokeball, with golden writing on it. I asked him about it, but he seemed to tell me that you would figure it out. From the way he speaks of you, I am sure he thinks of you very highly, you honour."
The H/C girl raised her eyebrows, half suspicious, half somewhat less sarcastic.
"Any additional information?"
"Not currently. Only these documents were to be given to you. However..."
"Yes? On with it."
"I did see what the Pokeball said, if only briefly. I may be quite wrong, but if I am indeed correct, it said, "shall be engraved in history as the true hero." Do you need that for anything important?"
"No." Y/N lied calmly, although she felt jus the opposite.
The attendant bowed, and left the section.
"He is who is just an loyal..." recited Y/N somewhat wistfully, "...shall be engraved in history as the true hero"? Huh..."
Her thought immediately flickered to Ash. If what the prophecy said was true, then... wouldn't that make Ash the true hero of Galar, and not her? Had she messed up her fate? Had she meant to have left Ash with the task, and just slither into the shadows, like a candle in the wind?
No.
Y/N was still suspicious of the prophecy, and even though she felt it was true, she didn't intend to ever stay a sitting duck. Her parents died, leaving the mansion in ruins, and...
Her mind snapped to a sudden thought. Immediately, she let Hatterene out, and requested something of it.
"Hatterene, I have something important I need you to do for me."
It nodded, non-verbally stating its allegiance.
"At the heart of Wedgehurst, there should be a sign that says "Ruins of Olde". Go there, turn right, and you should see my old mansion. If I am correct, my parents did leave me a will..."
Hatterene responded with an agile jerk of its head, then used Teleport to get there directly.
"As for Rose... Let's see here..."
Y/N smile glistened in the darkness once more. She cared no more about the prophecy, but only about what she would choose, right there and then.
