Chapter Twenty One: Plan A

(Thought I'd do something different for the header image this time.)

Y/N turned on her heel and walked to Sonia and Goh.

"You weren't bluffing, were you? We're actually going to take this guy on?" asked Sonia.

"Well, of course! I never bluff." answered Y/N breezily.

Goh and Sonia stared at her in surprise.

"You two don't need to do the actual battling. I will. What I need you to do is to go to Rose Tower, and hack into their power source-"

"But neither of us have done anything like that!" protested Goh.

"That's fine too." she replied. "Password is Eternatus. Someone's got to give him a lesson on how to set secure passwords."

"Heh..."

Y/N knew she could beat Rose and Ash single-handedly, but she needed someone to infiltrate the system. Who better for the job than Goh and Sonia.

"Listen closely. Pretend to be swayed onto Rose's side, then pretend that you're checking how the energy source is. After you disable it-"

"Wouldn't Galar be plunged into darkness by then?" asked Goh.

"I have a plan. What's important is that you go with it, okay?"

"She knows what she's doing," assured Sonia. "She's known Rose far longer than we have."

"Good luck." said Goh.

"I should say the same to you." replied the girl. "Oh, and take this."

She thrust two Macro Cosmos uniforms into their hands.

"Guess you really have everything sorted, huh?" laughed Goh nervously.

"Yes, quite." she said grimly. "Come on, what are you waiting for?"

"You mean we're doing this now?" asked Goh incredulously.

She gave him a look.

"When else?"

"Well, how about tomorrow?" he suggested anxiously. "I hear the weather's really nice."

Y/N laughed sardonically.

"Yeah, as if." said Sonia.

"I'm not going to just sit here and look pretty, either." stated Y/N. "Sure, you two can't defeat both Ash and Rose, but you still have a significant part. Oh, and remember - when life pushes you down, get back up and shove it back down."

"Yeah, I'll keep that in mind." said Goh, a trembling laugh at the back of his throat.

"Get into those uniforms and meet me at Rose Tower as soon as possible. I'll meet you there." confirmed Y/N.

"Right... You make it sound so easy..."

"Do I?"

"Sir, they will approach soon. I can feel it." said Ash.

"Very good. It seems like I was right in choosing you to be my apprentice." sneered Rose.

"Yes. I am glad to have pleased you, sir." 

Rose twiddled his fingers.

"Do you know their exact whereabouts?" asked the man.

"No. I only know that they're close."

"Interesting. It seems like Y/N L/N isn't as smart as she used to be."

"Yes, indeed."

Rose stared at the door behind him.

"Oleana!" he yelled.

A woman with caramel coloured hair and a rose red uniform appeared. Her face was impassive.

"You called, sir?" she asked.

"Yes. Track that Y/N girl and her Eternatus. Her friends will be there soon, so attack them at the first chance. One of them is the granddaughter of Professor Magnolia-"

"Sir, have you forgotten that Ms. L/N is a professor too?" interrupted Oleana.

Rose looked unsettled.

"Your point?" he prompted.

"Ms. L/N has precious information about Eternatus. Are you sure you still want to carry out your original plan."

"Of course."

Ash looked at the two.

"What do you mean, 'original plan'?" he asked suspiciously.

"Well, Ash."

He smiled widely.

"You are part of the team now, after all. I'll tell you a little secret."

Ash still looked doubtful.

"Trust me, it'll make the world far greater than you can imagine."

"Stop beating about the bush and tell me." snapped Ash.

"It involves the one you love most," began Rose. "and I don't think you'll be too happy about it once you. hear."
