Y/N let Lapras out of its ball.

"So," she smiled, as Ash felt his cheeks burn. "Where to?"

"I'll take the reins, if you don't mind." he replied.

"Oh, one more thing, you have Lapras in Kanto, right?" she asked.

"Yeah," he said.

"You can Gigantamax your Lapras, provided that you have a Dynamax Band..."

She grabbed his arm loosely.

"Here," she finished. "I'll demonstrate."

She returned Lapras, and her own Dynamax Band began to glow. The ball began to grow in size, as Y/N threw the ball out onto the water.

"Oh, wow," said Ash, awestruck. "Had I known this before, I would have done this ages ago."

"Ah, well, you know now, at least." she remarked. "Come aboard."

Ash climbed on.

"So, I've been meaning to ask, how's your World Coronation Series ranking?" she asked.

"Pretty good," he replied easily. "I do miss gym battling, though."

"Yeah, same here." she sighed. "By the way, do you have any idea where we're going?"

"I think," Ash replied.

Y/N's eyes widened.

"You think?" she asked. "Do you know with 100% certainty where we're going?"

"Yes! Look!"

He pointed off toward a beautiful island with plenty of palm trees. At least, they looked like palm trees. Y/N knew they really were Exeggutor, but she couldn't help noting their resemblance to one.

"Over there!"

She turned, puzzled, and then finally saw what he was motioning to.

"Wait... Is that a Dragapult? In Alola?" Y/N couldn't believe her eyes.

"Why? What's wrong about that?" Ash furrowed his eyebrows. "Isn't that normal?"

"No, Ash, Dragapult are native to Galar, not Alola!"

"Then...What's it doing here?"

"Your guess is as good as mine, Ash," stated Y/N grimly. "Lapras, full speed ahead, please."

It shot across the water, gusts of wind ruffling Ash and Y/N's hair. Salty waves splashed them as they arrived at their final destination. Ash began to search up what a Dragapult was on his phone.

"Dragapult, the Stealth Pokemon. A Dragon and Ghost type. When it isn't battling, it keeps Dreepy in the holes on its horns. Once a fight starts, it launches the Dreepy like supersonic missiles." chimed his Rotom phone.

"Oh, that's neat." commented Ash.

"Yes, quite," said Y/N. "It's also the ghost of an underwater prehistoric Pokemon."

"Well, if it's native to Galar, what's it doing here?"

"You've asked that already, Ash," she sighed. "Eevee, come on out."

Y/N' s Eevee curled up onto a rock as soon as it was released. A blinding light began to emanate from it.

"Is it...evolving?" asked Ash, shielding his eyes with his hand.

"Yes, I think! Into-"

"Espeon!"

Espeon stood there, fully evolved and looking rather cynical.

"She looks a lot like you," remarked Ash.

Y/N nodded, and approached the Dragapult. It had now slid into the water and was looking weary and distrustful.

"You're from Galar, aren't you?" she asked.

It hesitated, and eventually acquiesced.

"I thought so." replied Y/N. "Hang on, look..."

There was a chain on the neck of one of the Dreepy.

"Chairman Rose," she said quietly, so Ash couldn't hear. "Come on, Ash, let's leave. We've got to return Dragapult to Galar. I can teleport there."

Although Ash couldn't get rid of the feeling that Y/N was hiding something from him, he trusted her, and so left promptly with her, and they brought Dragapult back to Galar.

--End of Flashback--

Y/N sincerely wished she had told him...

Otherwise, he and Goh might not have been mixed up in this whole mess...
